wrong steam ID / failed to save data

Hey guys,

I keep getting the 2 errors that I've put in the title...

It's preventing me from playing the game.

Yes I bought the game, no cracks whatsoever.

I already tried reinstalling and verifying the integrity of the game cache.

Has anyone figured out how to fix this?

Reinstalling windows fixed it for me.
I didn't reinstall windows just to test if it would work tho. I just happened to notice that it worked after I reinstalled it for other reasons.

Have you ever cracked the game in the past before you bought it on steam?

I have never cracked the game. I purchased it and was playing it, then added my daughter through the family sharing - afterwards is when I started seeing the error. Both my progress and her progress disappeared.

The game probably bugs out when multiple IDs try to run the same game install. You could always try removing the game completely (this includes save data etc. that you have to remove manually) and letting her play on your account.

So for anyone still looking for this problem, here's what you have to do:

1)Create a new save file,
2)close the game.
3)Open the save file ("GameData.dat") in a hex editor.
4)copy the 6 Hex-digits starting at 00 00 08 E0
5)open your old save in a hex editor and paste in the same location.
6)now your old save should work.
