what am i missing about the Stage 13 boss
i've already beaten the game and i was blitzing through on speedrun mode for fun, and then Green Ranger just endlessly combos me to death (this is on Headache but as far as i can tell it's the same as Hard but no continues)

i can't roll out of the way, i can't hit him back most of the time, the up-strike doesn't seem to come out, i'm just stuck there in hitstun as he beats on me like it's a fighting game. Am I just stupid? Am i forgetting an obvious out or is this just an overtuned boss?

It definitely feels crazy once you're stuck in his combo, which is very easy to have happen!

At some point, I decided the most important objective in my life was to get the achievement for beating the Green Ranger without getting hit once (which apparently means not even getting hit while dodging, even though you don't take damage from it). I can't attest to what my mental-state at the time of deciding to try for this was, but after a few attempts, I realized it was not a good idea.. After a few tries (the term "few" will remain undefined for my own self-respect), I finally managed to take him down without being hit and felt like I really learned what's dangerous and what helps. I'll try to put a little list here:

- Don't try to jump/dive-kick him at close range; he seems to just knee-jerk shoryuken it. You might have more success if you get way back and start it from a double-jump, but I can't remember!

- Don't try to hit him after he dodges because he seems to have a slight window of invincibility? Not completely sure, but I don't remember having any success with that.

- Dodge on the dagger-slash move of his combo. This one had me pretty excited because I only noticed it on the last few attempts to get the achievement and it felt like the only real glimmer of hope I had seen when it came to escaping his combos and not just getting recaptured directly. I can't say for sure that this is a 100% success-rate by any means, but it definitely felt much better after discovering and trying this strategy compared to my previous combo of mashing and screaming at the screen. :o

- I found that one of the most effective tactics for safely going on the offense was to get in a different lane to go on the approach, this keeps him from trying any dashing kicks, so you can safely use a forward-punch (the punch that has more range than neutral punch) to initiate a combo on him right as you both meet at the same lane. This was pretty much my go-to tactic once I tried it, because it keeps his options at a minimum while letting you get a real combo started.

Sorry for the late reply; I meant to put this up last night, but hadn't quite finished it before going to sleep! Let me know if it still gives ya any trouble!
i will be sure to put this to use, thank you

honestly looking back i think i probably did use the old "approach them vertically" beat 'em up trick originally and then forgot it because you can rip through the rest of the game so easily (save for the bird duo)

I was a little worried when I was runnin' through the mission goals to get the achievement and noticed that the double-bird one still needed the "No Deaths" one! That boss-fight's on another level compared to any other mission in the game! I was so happy because by some miracle, I managed to survive like, half the fight on only one hit's worth of health and beat it on my first time going specifically for that goal! Up 'til that point, I'm sure I'd probably only ever beaten it on my last life, so I was very happy. XD

The only other fight besides the birds and Green Ranger that really gave me any trouble is the final boss-fight, just because I was so confused on the ridiculous orb mechanic, especially during the low-gravity phase. I was literally one-hit from taking her out on my first Headache run and ended up dying because of the ridiculous hit-detection/hit-box on those things! So painful!

The worst part is that, unlike the awesome Dragonzord battle that precedes it, the last battle is accompanied by a typical downer boss-theme (couldn't we get the Power Rangers theme for like, the last few hits of it, or something?) and then it just ends, shoves some dialogue at you, and rolls the credits. I'll never understand how this sequence was OK'd as the finale, especially with how climactic the mission preceding it is!

Ah well, tangent aside, hope it works for ya! Waiting for his dagger-slash to use my dodge definitely felt like the most promising possibility for escaping his combo, but "unfortunately", I was fortunate enough to finally get the achievement only a few attempts later, so I didn't really get to test it enough to say it's a 100% sure thing!

Good luck! :D
yeah the last boss can be a pain especially due to the fact that you can't ever fully clear out the enemies, last putty dies and a new squad immediately shows up so if you're trying to line up the hit it'll just hover around you waiting for you to stop moving

I just finished a speedrun on headache (1:43:24 with red ranger)

I really had some hard times on :

1- Turkey and Chicken double boss, a lot of my speedruns attempt stop there, I always beat Turkey first and I think I had just one health point and zero lifes when I managed to beat Chicken. It's crazy you have absolutely no food in the elevator...

2- Green ranger fight, almost same here, I beat him with no more lifes and one or two health points, my advice I think is really to wait for him to come at you and start to chain punch him, don't try Power Rangers stuff on him :D don't try to stomp him, don't jump kick him (not on headache) remember it's lore accurate and evil green ranger is better than you -_-'
always have a special attack ready for him for the finish or at some point in the fight, I even think if you have to spam your button 20secs before the boss start to have one ready worth the wait.

3- DragonZord level, I was 0 life but have some extra health point, still need to stay really focus to dodge laser, stars missiles and shoot on the ones from above, the problem in these level is to start the whole section when you die. The Megazord vs DragonZord was litteraly over in 15 seconds, I just chainpunch him.

RoboRita was not a huge deal, the final part when she launch the "electric ball" in clutch is easier than the previous one, putties are more problematic than her. You can start to punch the generators before they spawn so you will be already destroying him at the moment they appears.
