Megazord Lightning Sword Glitched?
I'm not sure if this is a glitch or maybe just something happening on my end, but when I connect with the final blow using the Megazord lightning sword, I build up the power by mashing the button, it reaches full charged, and then suddenly the monster just falls to the ground, the sword stays where it was while charging, and the mission results play.

This has happened on every Megazord level and I had at first assumed maybe I was doing something wrong. I apologize if this is not a glitch and is just made like this, but if that is the case, this is in dire need of an effect. Everything else plays out like one would expect having seen the show, but the final slash always has a lightning effect that appears right as the slash happens and then the enemy explodes.

I don't mean this post as just something to say "such-and-such would be a nice addition!", as here, this is something that absolutely should not exist as it is in its current state because it literally looks as though the game is broken and even worse, looks broken at the point that should be the climactic moment of an exciting fight.

Explosion and lightning effects already exist, so I should think if this is not a glitch and actually does need to be added that the necessary assets already exist and can be reused for implementing the necessary effects.

If anyone else out there doesn't have this happen, please let me know, as I just have a hard time imagining this is the way this is intended to be, but am unsure after it occurred at the finale of every Megazord battle.

Thanks!

Was just playing a "Headache" difficulty run and tried pressing "A" instead of "X" when I had the sword, then pressed both "A" and "X" together to charge it. I was surprised 'cause it definitely looked like something cooler happened! Is it possible there's some button combination I've been needing to use rather than just slashing with "X" then pressing "X" repeatedly to charge? Anyone's knowledge would be appreciate; I sent Goldar like, a zillion miles into the distance and now I wanna do eet again! O.O'
I've been trying it more on another headache run, but even when I see a different effect and the enemy flies back, there still isn't a big effect to communicate a "slash" of any sort. I'm still not sure what's going on with it, especially with the different effect I got charging with both buttons over just "X", but even just a lightning-colored line across the screen like in the show would be a huge improvement.
I've noticed this too. I wasn't sure if I did something incorrectly, but as far as I've seen there doesn't seem to be a slash animation. It just looks like I've tapped the enemy with a charged sword.

There is a slash animation when you don’t hit the boss but not when you hit them

I'm extremely confused on how I was able to play through an entire run only seeing what seems like a glitched animation. What you describe sounds like exactly what happened to me when I was pressing "X" to slash and then mashing "X" to charge the sword. See what happens when you try pressing "A" to initiate the slash and then either mash "A" and "X" or just "A" to to charge it. When I slashed with "A" and mashed both "A" and "X" at the same time, the meter made a different sound upon charging and the enemy was sent really far backward in a cool but equally confusing looking effect.

I discovered a different looking finishing attack when fighting Eye Guy on the roller-coaster, too. It used to look like I was just firing the same super laser as the one you can just use for your own super, but upon trying the same buttons I did for the sword for its new animation, it gave me a much larger blast that looked way cooler.

I still don't understand exactly what's going on with this, but it really should just be the following for every Megazord finish:

1. Initiate slash

2. Mash to charge

3. Slash line appears along screen

4. Megazord initiates the same turn-around animation it does already

5. Explosion effect over enemy while the Megazord is facing screen, similar to the show

This is just such a bizarre mystery and I'm a little worried that with how confusing it is about what buttons you should and shouldn't press, if whatever the actual, intended animation is still messed-up or underwhelming, there won't be any chance of it getting fixed.

Hopefully the devs shine some light on this soon!
