The whole game is likely two to three hours, and is designed very much as a 90s arcade quarter-muncher, with replayability and multiplayer sessions in mind.
Speedrunners and people who prefer to skip the dialogue and just get into the action will burn through it faster than players who want to get into the story and find all the collectibles.
I really appreciate it!
The comment about the stages seeming "short" was solely based on what I've seen thanks to the demo playthrough, where episode one had three stages.☺️
But, since the length of an episode may vary, that doesn't mean that much anymore.
But, two to three hours of gameplay for a beat' em up is insane!!!🥳
Yeah, there is going to be some adjustment of expectation -- this is really designed to be an arcade game, where 20 to 40 minutes (and several dollars!) would have been on par for the 90s. So we're trying to bring that into the home realm where expectations are going to run longer, but it's going to jump around different gameplay styles, and I am curious to see if, say, a person who is really good with the brawler mechanics is also good with the Zord or bikes mechanics, let alone the Megazord punch-out sequence. Hard to tell until people get their mitts on it!
Not all episode boss battles are the 3D slugfests. Some are more traditional 2D brawler boss battles. And some episodes have multiple bosses... :)
I've read/watched some interviews about the game, and I do agree it's pretty crazy that MMPR never got it's own arcade game back in the 90's. So, this is a great chance to fix that!😊
I am really happy with the game (ending up) being a bit longer! 😁I am especially thrilled about the fact that some episodes will be feauturing several bosses!🤩 It must have been difficult for you guys to decide on which ones to include, since there are so many iconic to chose from!
The variety in gameplay sounds exciting, and I think it will help the game setting apart and feeling a bit more unique.🤗
All of this has me both curious and excited, as a player and as a fan.
Hopefully, the game will be a success, and get some additional content down the line too!
It is very obvious that a lot of love, patience and work went into it.🥰
