Online Play?
Hey! Saw that this is finally up for pre-order in game stores! Got a question about online play.

I noticed that it says that there's online play, but is it true that it's limited to just two players online?

Thanks!

With that high price i expect a fully functional 5 (or 6?) player online coop built into the game by default, plus Crossplay to have a better chance of finding other players and keeping the game alive longer!
I'm also not gonna use parsec.

I hope everyone else is going to enjoy the game. I'll join in some other time.

Yeah, same here. This is a huge deal breaker for me, so I'd rather wait now.

Just look at all others BTU, oldies and modern, none have a 5 players online coop (except TMNT SR) It's barely 2 online and A LOT of them are only local playing.
Yeah what a backwards way of thinking. TMNT showed it is possible, so people will expect this on other similar games moving forward. I know game dev keeps saying this is not TMNT, but sometimes a game comes out that sets a new standard within the industry.

No crossplay for a 5 player game is wild.

Good way to kill the game on arrival. I am still buying it on release, but I am sure this will deter so many other potential buyers who were looking to have the first run be with their mates as a team of 5.

In games, you usually only get one chance at a good first impression, and in a game like this, you can expect this missing feature to stick out like a sore thumb.
I don't think it will be a big deal:BL3Shrug: I mean who has 4 friends that buy games full price new and all have time to play together, like 1% of the people buying it probably. I could see 1 or 2 but 4..

Its not just about playing with friends, personally I'd much rather quick join a game or host a lobby and play with 3-4-5 other people as Rangers than just the AI. Its just cooler in every way wether they're friends or randoms that might become friends!

Remote-play is a Steam solution to fake couch-co-cop.
This is NOT online play, so these restrictions wont apply.
But I would recommend against it, remote-play plays like ass, no matter which game.

You can play with 4 other players in local coop

Unless your platform supports more than 4. Switch with Pro Controllers, for instance, can support more than 4, and we will support at least 5 there.

But online and offline are different modes, so your offline play will not be restricted to 2p at launch.

I feel the need to strongly disagree with your cynical take on this. The whole game was designed around a multiplayer experience, based on a shared control panel on an arcade machine, so it is a key feature. But things go wrong, and you either figure out a way to navigate and fix them, or you walk away. We're not walking away.

if you have this outlook based on your experience with other games, I am sorry, but we are not those games and I will not accept being blamed for the mistakes of others. How WE overcome and correct our own mistakes is all that matters.

Cross platform should be a thing any game dropping should have for the longevity of the game.

Getting the first-party companies to even allow this kind of cooperation is relatively new and still rare. Cross-platform play is a really cool feature that some games have managed to pull off -- but most do not. However, because it's so cool when it works, it has quickly become an assumption rather than an exception, and I cannot stress enough that it should not be an expectation for a whole host of reasons, from technicalities to permissions. Great when it can happen -- agreed. Not easy on the back end -- confirmed.

Cross-gen play (PS4 to PS5; Xbox One to Xbox Series) is supported in Rita's Rewind, but cross-platform (PC to PS5, Switch to Xbox) is not.

Hi, I would like to start off by saying we hope you guys have an amazing launch week! My question is that would there be a better contact for pr codes than the email on the site? I sent an email to both emails on the site, but with no response so far! I would love for a chance to show off the local co-op of the game on my group YT channel! Our channel focus's on local co-op games! In the email I mentioned that our console of choice would be PS5, but now if the switch is up to 6 players local, that is most likely the best fit for us! Thanks so much! Have a great night!

From what I gathered in today's preview stream, is that on Steam you can have two local players or three on one PC, and two or three local on another PC and play a team of 4 or 5 total between 2 PCs like that. Can dev please confirm if this is true?
CruZer Dec 9, 2024 @ 1:33am
They did a recent livestream where they confirmed that for the Steam version you can be 5 with 2 online systems, 3 on local for one system being online with another one with 2 people on local for example.

It's the head producer for the game who said that on the livrestream and yeah he was speaking about the steam version.

Well, if that's the case then that's much better than just two players overall. Also, looks like 6 players in general is possible after unlocking Tommy.

They also seem to be fully aware that people want the White Ranger as DLC. Here is hoping it happens.

Horrible move by your overlords. Delays r always a good things.

After talking to hundreds if not thousands of fans for whom this is the highlight of their year...strong disagree. We will follow with a fast patch.
I'm one of those. I've been thinking about this game every day since it was first announced. I need some happiness after a terrible year.

Does the game not support online mode at all? I'm not seeing the option for online at all?
