Strike Fighters 2:Europe update?
While browsing for mods, I keep finding references to some kind of update that enhances the game to the Strike Fighters 2 engine, which seems to be needed for many newer add-ons to work. Problem is, I can't find this update anywhere. Can anyone shed info on this?

If you're talking about the October 2008 patch for Wings over Europe, here it is:

http://www.thirdwire.com/downloads.htm

When it asks for the installation location put that "...\Steam\SteamApps\common\Wings Over Europe".

Well, I've already installed that. But, when I use mods meant for SF:p2 (which I thought it upgraded WOE to), the mods don't show up in the plane list.

The Strike Fighters 2 series is a completely new, upgraded version of the old "Wings Over XXX" Series. Strategy First have the rights to market the old "Wings Over Europe" on steam. You cannot upgrade Wings Over Europe to Strike Fighters 2: Europe.

If you want to get Strike Fighters 2: Europe, you will need to buy that from the Thirdwire online store.

Hope that makes it clear.

I wish Thirdwire would release their games on Steam. I don't understand why they don't. Maybe sometime in the future....

Thirdwire would get much more exposure to release the Strike Fighters 2 series on Steam. Guess they dont want to make money. LOL

It seems Thirdwire don't really release compatibility patches for their games and instead just re release them again at full price later tweaked for newer OSs. An outrageous practice if you ask me and I can see now why their games aren't on steam.

So I tried this on my PC (running Windows 7), and I could go to a mission, but all I got was a solid sky blue screen or solid white screen, (maybe with a bit of the HUD on it) and game audio, but nothing else. So I decided to try this '08 update to see if it would help. And when I tried to install it, it got about halfway through and said "Extract: error writing to file B-52D_LeftWing.bmp" It refuses to continue installing after that. What do I do? :/
