do you just copy and paste \steamapps\common\Wings Over Europe when it asks on the download?
EDIT: got it fixed nevermind
Indeed, I thought about buying it but unless the price drops to somewhere around 10$ I stick with the old versions. I bought Wings over Vietnam the other day from amazon for 0,50$. :-D
I noticed that the game ran fine when launched from the STEAM sub-directory on my hard drive (though exiting the game was causing issues).....but would crash as soon as I selected Instant Action or a Mission from the STEAM LIBRARY shortcuts.
Here is how I got WOE to run well from the hard drive sub-directory (NOT the Steam Library shortcut):
1. Installed the OCTOBER2006b patch mentioned earlier in this thread to:
C:\Program Files\Steam\steamapps\common\Wings Over Europe
2. Set the COMPATIBILITY MODE of the game's WOE.exe file to WinXp SP2, Disable Visual Themes, Run as Administrator....found at:
C:\Program Files\Steam\steamapps\common\Wings Over Europe\WOE.exe
3. Created a shortcut on my desktop and the Windows Menu for the WOE.exe file found in the location mentioned in Step 2 above.
4. Launch the game from your new desktop or Windows Menu shortcuts...NOT the Steam Library shortcut (sound may be choppy in the cut-scene (still photo) as the selected INSTANT ACTION or MISSION loads, but clears up in game play).
System:
Win7 32Bit (for older software and games..I have other rigs, Win8.1, Win10, Linux Mint connected via a four port KVM switch for "other things").
Intel(R) Core(TM)2 Quad CPU Q6600 @2.4GHz
4GB RAM
Radeon HD 5500 1GB Video Ram card
2x 2TB Hard Drives
