Suggested Mods

I know there's a lot of mods for this game and I was wondering what mods would be good additions. I know the main site to find the mods but was hoping if someone could suggest some good ones, such as planes and campaigns. Thank you.

the huge NATO mods is awesome it adds countless of planes to the game, and there are a lot of sites with extra aircraft on, i've added Mig-31 foxhound example and RF-4 to my collection in the game wonderful planes wonderful battles!

However i am in the search for one of the old modders that might know how to update the sky and someone that can show how to make new scenarios as my always crashes after porting it :

Before getting the Mods, I would suggest updating the game with the ThirdWire's Oct 2008 update.

Then I would go after the NATO mods (4 of them) as Victorious suggested. I would also suggest getting the Enhanced Hi-Res Default Terrain and the ModSky v1 at least which make the game look a lot better in higher resolutions.

If you are running multiple monitors, then you also might want to get WoV/WoE/WoI .CAT Extractor from ThirdWire (called "SFP1E_10.exe", the newer ones did not seem to work.). The reason I suggest to get that as you have to extract the VIEWLIST.INI file from the FLIGHTDATA.CAT file in the Flight folder. When you do that, change out the FOV=240 and the OffsetDistance=-1.75 for both the [ViewClass002] and the [ViewClass003]. Once that is changed, the old instructions state to put that in the Game folder in your Saved Games/ThirdWire folder under the User. I have Windows 10 x64 bit, so all I had was the ThirdWire folder. I put the VIEWLIST.INI there, in the Wings Over Europe installed directory, and the Flight folder under the Wings Over Europe installed directory. And it all seems to work now. (Note, this also works with Wings Over Vietnam and Wings Over Isreal too except changing the instructions from "Europe" to either the "Vietnam" or "Isreal" depending on what you have.)

TrackIR 5 works. Thrustmaster Warthog Hotas works. Saitek Elite Pedals work.

Other "Inclusive Mods" you can get over at CombatAce.com are Falklands 1982 and Operation Desert Storm which are pretty good also.

Just an update I have most of those now all the NATO and Desert Storm. Haven't looked at Falklands yet.
