How to Play Game on Windows 10
When I first tried to play this game on Windows 10, it did not work at all. It would immediately crash upon starting. Here is what I did to get it working. First, right click the game in your steam library. Click Properties. Then click the tab "Local Files." Click "Browse Local Files." This should bring up the folder with the game files in Windows Explorer. Inside of the game folder you will see a folder called "exe". Look inside this folder. Open "config.exe." You will see a little options window. Unclick "Use Direct Draw" and "Use Direct Sound." Then save and exit. After doing this, the game would then open, but the screen was very tiny. To fix this, you need to find the other exe file called "disciple.exe" in the same folder. Right click this, then go to properties. Click on the compatability tab. In the settings box, click "Run in 640x480 resolution". Hit apply and OK to exit. Now you should be able to run the game properly and full screened.

Although some people use the WIndows compatability mode, I've found that this made the screen flash and mess up. However, the instructions listed above were very simple and I have not had any problems since then.

The game still crash for me when it tried to launch a stage.

Only worked with compatability mode, but all compatability made game flicker except for Windows 7 mode.

Hope it keeps runnin smoothly. :]

You should turn it into a guide. Also, did you change Disciples.ini?

Btw this solution also worked if you end up purchasing the game through GoG. Thanks a ton :)

You also need to go into the ini and change the instalation paths if you did not instal the game on c:

In my case installing game on drive C: fixed the issue.
I tried other ways but nothing else helped.

Alternative fix:
1. Search DISCIPLE.INI in EXE directory in game's installation directory. Open it and fix all paths to right ones, since by default it expect you to install it on drive C:
2. Install wrapper https://verokster.blogspot.com/2019/03/disciples-i-ii-gl-wrapper-patch.html It has some nice options like different resolutions and upscaling.
