Whoa, music?
Just to make sure, if you hit okay, with no cd in the drive, do you get the original music?
Why is that screen almost flaunted as a feature? It doesn't bother me so much because this is PC gaming and you're always gonna have to find a workaround for something, but you still get the original music right?

From the Shop Page:
If you don't want to have music playing, simple hit "Cancel" and the game will launch.

I read the shop page, and if you read my post you'd realize I'm not asking for music or no music. I'm asking if you get the ORIGINAL music.

I have already answered your Question!

Click "Cancel" to hear no Music in the Game.
Click "OK" to hear Music in the Game.

Get it? Just click Ok and you will hear the ORIGINAL Music if the window pop up. Would be stupid to sell a Game without the Game Music right?

Actually you didn't answer his question until now.

You would be surprised. This release is by Strategy First, who are well-known to be scammers and thieves. Multiple developers had to sue them just to get them to pay royalties for the game they developed, while others never saw their money at all. Just recently, this company tried to release a game on Steam despite being contractually forbidden from doing so, leading to the developer smacking them down again.

I wouldn't be surprised if they would try to make a quick buck by releasing a game without music at some poor developer's expense. That's practically the only way of making money they know.

I suggest you guys re-read, it specifically says the music was on it's own CD. If you click ok it will play the music of w/e cd you have in there, you will not get the original score as it was on a disk and they didn't do anything to make this game a release for steam. I'd get Steam to take it off the market honestly.

This does sound like a very fluffy way of saying "We don't have the original music with this release, but you can add any of your own!"

Some of us need the non-fluffy answer. Thank you.

@Lymanity just didn't payed attention on the Shop Page that's all. There is a Screenshot after the Video that explains it. @Noodlesocks Re-read it AGAIN and you will realize what i was saying. I said "IF you DON'T want to have music playing, simple hit "Cancel" and the game will launch." It's pretty much self-explanatory that you get the Original Music IF you click instead OK. I mean we are in the Year 2014. We expect to have the Music. Clans is 15 Years old and bringing it on Steam means that the have to make it ready for us Users here.

Best is if somebody buy it now and check out, before to many Users asking the same Question over and over again.

Unless he/she has actually tested it, Darrok is making an unjustified assumption and reading that store page blurb charitably. It no where says anything about whether the original music is included, and there are old game engines that cannot do their music without CD audio. Even on Steam there are games like this - Mysteries of the Sith has this same issue and is lacking the original music. You have no way of knowing how it was handled until someone tests it and confirms. My bet is that there is no way to use the original music, though.

You'd be wrong because it specifically states the music was on cd so say I put in a Korn CD, Korn is going to play while I play the game. They purposely made it a lukewarm description to con people into thinking like you are. They did nothing to make this a steam release and hoping to collect on the small sales to never be heard from again.

I bought Clans to clear this once and for all and yes everything works. I just been playing a few Minutes just to check out!

I can hear Music and soundeffects. Intro plays with music which is the same as the Video on the Shop Page AND no i didn't got a Window pop up like on the Screenshot, but i'm using Windows 8 64Bit so i don't know what happends if somebody else gets it on a other Windows System.
emtilt Mar 13, 2014 @ 11:10am
Sound effects and music in videos/cutscenes/intros will not be affected. Only background music during normal gameplay. That is there, and it doesn't ever disappear into a silent background?
