Hi,
Sorry for this bug, can you try to browse to the Steam Local Files of the game and see if there is an error log:
edencraftersErrorLogs
or edencraftersLogs

Thanks,
Marc

What is your GPU?
Klandor Aug 2, 2024 @ 4:55am
Is this possibly an issue of Visual C++ Redistributable not installing or not installing correctly? I've heard of that happening with a different game, in that the current version of the game needed to be removed and an older version of the game had to be installed, which forced a proper installation of Visual C++ Redistributable (or something similar), then update the game to the current version, which solved the issue. I'm NOT saying this IS the problem, but it's something to consider.

so far i really can get into the game. I have found some bugs in the game so far that I would like to inform the Dev's about. I do understand its a prologue but it dose not matter to me i cant wait for the full release.

1. Survivability under the water
2. when placing conveyor sections while using your drone will re spawn your character at the end of the
range dictated to player model.
3. Placing conveyor sections can be junky and random over the land, like mountains, etc.
4. Conveyor sections sometimes will spawn i graphic and with no mass over long sections being built.

Drop me a line if any questions

Sorry for not getting back to you sooner, but when I reviewed the above specs, I noted some out-of-date details. You're BIOS is WAY out of date. You're running BIOS A07, but, according to Dell's Web Site, the most recent version of the BIOS is A16, released on November 23, 2018... Based off of this, I'd suspect you have a number of out-of-date drivers, too. Do you have Dell Command Update (or something similar) installed on your system? If you do, I'd recommend running it and installing any updates labeled CRITICAL (of which the BIOS is one). If you do NOT have it installed, please take a look at this link:

https://www.dell.com/support/home/en-us/product-support/product/inspiron-15r-5521/drivers

It's a link to the Dell Support Update page which has ALL the updates available from Dell for your laptop model. In particular, there's one labeled Dell Update Application, dated April 27, 2020. If you install that (there may be some Microsoft updates that you'll need to install, too), you should be able to review a list of further updates for your laptop and get them installed in the order you need. I'd use that as there may be interim older BIOS updates that need to be installed first. That may or may not resolve your issues, but it would be a step that I'd recommend...

I had different crash at startup. Checking state of local files helped. Steam re-downloaded a few files, re-installed redistributables and it helped. So, maybe that'll help you as well.

File verification would help, but out of date Drivers can cause all sorts of crazy issues...

True. Especially when we are talking about integrated intel cards.
I wouldn't make an assumption about outdated drivers based only on outdated BIOS version, though. Video-drivers and OS tend to ask for updates and download them in ahead. And even install them without asking in case of Windows, while reminders about BIOS updates only happen if you kept vendor software on your system. Reinstall Windows once, and it's all gone unless you go and install it again, and there's rarely ever a reason to do so. Furthermore, some people avoid BIOS updates because any single mistake from either you or the software downloading and installing these may cost you more time and money than you're willing to spend. When your system works fine, there's rarely ever a reason to update your BIOS.

It's a good call to check that at least video drivers and system are up-to-date regardless.
