Bulk Floor Building?

Is there an easy way to build large floor areas? I can only build in a straight line and then multiple layers up/down. However I want to build a large single level floor.

It might be easier from the drone view (press V) because when you're looking down you'll be able to build several lines at a time.

I didn't know there was a drove view. I'll check it out next time and let you know my thoughts. Thanks.

posible you can flat the buildplace with placing the houseblock, one to one and then remove, only the holes must you then filled with dirt

Even with the drove view it is BEYOND finicky to get it to build multiple horizontal tiles at once. It will also do some type of auto adjust and shrink it down when I'm trying to build. I figured I'd build out over the water, ya know, free real estate. However doing 1 line of around 30 cubes at a time is just an absolute bore. I'm not going to get very far as it is now. Doing any terraforming (removing ground / adding blocks) in mass is painfully slow. Slapping buildings down is decent enough but doing any kind of OCD planning doesn't seem possible here.
