This 100% needs a change, maybe a toggle option for solo lobbies that allows players to choose if they want Ventress to spawn or not.
Yeah. this has a really nasty effect on the flow of solo play (which is already a bigger risk for sure). You constantly need to backtrack and hide under desks only, since they always know where you are. Keeping silent and sneaking becomes a far less viable option when they just know your location.
She should definitely be an enemy that only attacks when you are "completely" alone (no enemies or players nearby), and make her leave if another enemy shows up as well (as she does for a player).
I kind of wish she had a "moving through the vents" leading sound to indicate that she is about to be active, but with the intention being that if you don't run/walk in front of the vent she is breathing at "after" that vent crawling sound completes, then she won't come out, which will trigger a similar sound going away to indicate leaving. This would allow for the usual stealthier movement to remain a viable option. The only special counter-play being "don't be alone" is kind of rough when solo players can't do that.
In lethal company the butler enemy is very similar, but in in that game you can just beat them to death in solo as they are intentionally given much less health than in multiplayer. Mind you, I'd still rather have better counter-play than "that" kind of setup so that larger servers (or even moderately sized, like a 3 person that splits into a 2 and 1 group) can still have individual players counter them more reasonably.
