The Pager (can) be very useful. There's a noticeable pause in between being super far away from a elevator and then it beeping incessantly as you're a couple feet away from one. It's best to treat it like sonar. It'll give you a general idea of the direction you want to head in.
It does appear to be affected by elevation so try walking several feet in-game or changing elevation on different floors to see if you notice any difference in the beeping's frequency. Trying it out on Metro I found my first elevator within a couple minutes over three runs. Careful if the map has Spider though.
(It may also be worth mentioning that the pager does not pick up on the train platform's elevator.)
As for the Stun Light you have a few seconds you have to charge it before it goes off for a frame or so to blind a Forsaken. Although the flash's radius was buffed be sure not to miss.
tho learning on your own may be acceptable it would get very frustration when the answer is not clear enough to understand. And that's how I was when finding these items in stuff like escape mode cus that was the only time I ever wanted to put time in trying them out without just throwing a debt pay into them multiple times cus I got caught at the wrong time.
I would think the pager working even if the elevator was on another floor would be better and more useful than just on the same floor where you would most likely see it before you'd want to use it if it attracts the entities. I personally want ot stay a silent as possible rarely ever running past the first 2 hours since I mainly go in solo where I can run into a vent that may open on top of me. The stun light seems not too crazy useful since I cant seem to time the shot good enough to not take a hit. Im eaither too early or too late since the only times I see myself using it is at dead ends where ther are no doors that I would rather use. Speaking of doors they seem to not work with the Spider as consistently as I would hope. I even got grabbed through a door on a Spider that I saw behind me about 3 seconds before I ran to a door just to lose my drops.
I do ask for video cus then those peopel who do make videos on items can show the best case use for it or even give little tips like how the 4 glow sticks in pocket can make a good track back to an otherwise very tight and maze like Tunnels. And I wuldn't know the flash light made noise as I never flicked it on and off towards an enemy until just yesterday after flicking it's on and off multiple times before and stopped using it forever.
I can see why the answers are not there immedietly but I would still like some community based video on why an item can be useful aside from my bad luck and negative thoughts towards some items to never interact with them
