Alliance War group composition

I wonder if your War record has some bearing on the "difficulty" of the group & map you're assigned to in each new campaign.

I've been up against seemingly-equal Alliances in the previous matches - we're a 2/20 alliance, we've been fighting 2 and 3/20 alliances til now. But I've been managing to be 1st place in most of the campaigns so far, and the new campaign that just started seems like that won't be the case again - we're the only 2/20 alliance, with most of them being 4/* 5/* and 6/*. Plus the starting defense values on the map are in the 700-1200 range. With only two members, I suspect my ranking will be a bit lower this time. :D

(hmm, I wonder if army strength also matters - I managed to buy the second 1000-ticket unit yesterday, and most are upgraded to lv8-11. 10/12 units, ~2050 total strength.)

And now, having held 1st place leaderboard in every stage of the last war, we've been placed in a group with multiple 8-member alliances. Woot.
