This means you need to constantly keep an eye on your commander’s level, items and stats. If one of your commanders has reached a point where you can’t win fights anymore, it’s time to start leveling up another one. Moreover, commander abilities affect all units, so it's beneficial to develop each one rather than focusing on just one. The game is designed for a long journey, so reaching the top quickly isn't going to happen fast.
I've played other Auto Chess games with RPG functionality. I get that there are RPG elements. That's my main issue is those RPG elements effect the game way too much in this game. I have 5 heroes. They're all in master rank. There is no "spending time on another character" when one hits a dead end. They're all at a dead end. I've boosted them. I've leveled them. I've dealt with their items. I've plundered. I'm making sure that the ones I'm not playing with have their ability items equipped. I'm even at a point in the story where I get one shot with my Best character. In queue I can't tell you how many time's I've been 2 or 3 shot.
Simply put, that's not fun. I was thinking about spending some money but at this rate I don't want to. Because if I need to spend money just in order to attempt to compete then I know I'm going to have to spend a ton to have a fare game.
It goes beyond the damage too. I end up in round 2 seeing a bot team without scholars that has 3 two star units. I've seen a bot team in round 3 with 6 units and three units at 2 stars. I don't even know how that's possible. So not only do the bots hit me for 50 but they have better teams early game generally. When I beat them early I do 7 that gets dodged down to 1.
Add to that there have been NUMEROUS times where I fight the same person 2, 3, 4 times in a row. This snowballs the game quite a bit.
My suggestions are
1) level out the bots early game. Almost every game they have multiple 2 stars in round 2. That's not realistic. Most players outside of the lucky game have one 2 star.
2) make kills scale down the damage considerably. I've lost to a tier 1 that is a 1 star and been hit for 25+. That should never happen. If you get totally routed and don't kill a single enemy, big damage. If there is 1 left much less damage.
3) Fix the rounds to have less back to back fights with the same opponent. Stop the snowballing effect
4) Tree Giant is too powerful. This unit alone has turned games from shambles to wins. Either lower the stun duration or massively reduce the damage his ability does. I won't even be running giants and I'll take him just for how key of a character he is. A character can do damage, provide good utility, or be hard to kill. A character can have 2 of those things but should never be all 3.
