You can kill anyone, except your pursuer.
Like in Dead by Daylight, the killers can kill all the survivors with ease but they have to sacrifice them to the Entity, I know Jason Voorhees would not give a damn about Entity but it's the game trying to make sense of its mechanic.
How about this game ? Because you are a murderer having no problem killing other things, why you have problem killing that "One thing" :v ?
You could say: "It's video game" but then it goes beyond ridiculous.
In Dollhouse, you are a character who is suffering from amnesia and a big part of the game in Singleplayer mode is collecting memories which are stored in film reels. In Multiplayer, you are tasked with finding memories while avoiding your pursuer and killing your scripted target. So, you're trying the gather your memories and not be lost to your amnesia in the world of Dollhouse. When you kill your scripted target, you steal all the memories they acquired and have a better chance at gathering the most before your time is up. Gathering items, killing targets, and collecting memories all factor into who has the best stats.
I don't know how many player per match but I will assume it's 14 just for me to keep explaining what I understand.
Then in multiplayer there is randomly 1 will be chosen as pursuer the rest are survivors.
Which makes the game a 1v12v1 for survivors and 1v13 for pursuer, right ?
Each match is divided into rounds, each round you are assigned a random target to kill. This will always mean someone is after you while you are after someone else. You cannot kill your pursuer and only can kill one person per round. Killing your target would normally net you more points over a non-target. Kill wisely and always use your Focus to see how close your pursuer is to survive :)
This is a murder spree @@ !
I hope single player will still be optional?
Singleplayer and Multiplayer are both standalone modes :)
