Emission levy suggestion
From what I understand, the emission levy only starts taking effect when the emission balance is above 0. In most games I play, The AI happily destroys the planet while I try to keep things going. I end up having a balance of around -2000 just to keep up with the AI's pollution. My problem with the levy is that if I try to keep the balance under 0, to try and heal the planet, I'm not getting any money, and the AIs that are polluting like crazy don't have to pay anything. My opinion is that the levy should always be in effect, so that we have to try not to pollute and get rewarded, or punished, for it.

That's quite a good point that we will need to discuss.
Thanks for the feedback!

I guess it could get into effet when the combined emission of all players reaches 2000 or something like that if you don't want it to go into effect right at the beginning of the game.

Or every player gets a free 500 emission, or divide the emission of the planet by the amount of players. Just throwing ideas out there.

You could try making the AI use the redemption center with the carbon sequence upgrade on it, so when global warming reaches 50% they will use it, but this will case the game to never be able to end in a worst case senerio. So you should make it where it has a limited ratio for the land tiles to the building so the AI doesn't abuse the buildings for example (for every 25 tiles of land owned the AI can build a redemption center with the carbon upgrade) but thats an example, also, the ratio can could change when global warming reaches higher percentages so they use it slightly more... so thats my suggestion hope you think it will help.

So in the campaign this whole mechanic never plays a role and might as well not exist. I am now on the ice planet and the mission completed too, before global warming kicked in, but I continued to play to see how it goes. It was nice to receive money for being the most clean. Dealing with rising sea levels and retreating inland was also interesting. But then the game ended. It would be more fun, to just delete the most polluting player every 10min or so until only the most clean player is left (me) and then you can have some gameplay to heal the planet and you should only lose the game when you fail at that.

Last man standing based on emissions... That's a great mechanism!
