Changing dpi on a new image?

This sounds silly, but hear me out. If I want to make a new image, Krita Gemini takes me to a screen that doesn't give me measurement options, so I can't set the page to inches and specify 8.5 by 11 at 300 dpi... or 8.5 by 11 at 450 dpi or 600 dpi. So I click the A4 page which is at 150 dpi. I can then adjust things so they are CMYK. I can't adjust the dpi on my new page and if I make a new image from the file menu I get the same menus that don't let me set the measurement options.

So... what's the Krita way of doing things... because nothing that seemed intuitive has worked yet.

In the welcome screen when you launch Krita, the middle column has several options, the topmost of which should be "Custom Image". Clicking on that one takes you to a new screen where you can input the image width and height in pixels, and resolution in dpi, plus color options. I must agree though that this screen could allow inputting the size in other units.

I can't seem to find a way to change dpi once the image has been already created though.

In other units... lol, so pretend to make a new image in OpenCanvas when I want to use something besides RGB, then copy the pixel counts over to Krita. Lol, what a pain in the neck. Well, it'll work.

@southpawami Yeah, I'd like to see if we can add some standard sizes/unit selection in the create image welcome page. I'm afraid at present the best solution I can suggest is create an image then choose "Scale to New Size" under the Image menu.

After you have a size that works, you can save this by choosing File->Create Template From Image, it will then show up in the list of templates under the default set from the welcome menu.

Thank you, DraccoonStu. Units to pick when creating a document would be most appreciated. (lol, wish you had the two different rough measurements of cubits too(1.5ft increments and 1.72ft increments).. would make it easier to guesstimate a sketch and painting of Old Testament measurements.
