Full reset (to default) Krita settings
How can I fully reset Krita to default settings? (brush presets generally)

Krita's settings can be reset from the various menus inside the "Settings" drop-down menu; they usually have a "defaults" button in the lower left. However, resetting the brushes can be a little more involved.

Assuming you're on Windows, the Krita configuration files are stored in your user's AppData/krita/share/apps/krita folder. Erasing that folder (with Krita closed) will cause the program to revert all the settings to their default values, and delete all custom brushes, textures, etc. Krita will then re-create the config folder as needed.

However, if the only thing you want to do is remove all custom brushes and be left with the default ones, you only need to delete the "paintoppresets" folder and the "kis_paintoppresets.blacklist" file within the previously mention config folder.
In case you're wondering, the .blacklist file is created because Krita never actually deletes a brush when you modify and overwrite it, instead it creates a new copy and "blacklists" the old one.

This is all from my personal testing; you might want to wait for developer response for confirmation.

Thanks for your comment. Yeah I already saw those "settings" in drop-down menus and also cleaning in folder of Krita. But my "Brush preset" appear somehow again. I wonder maybe its using Cloud saves of brush presets. Anyway thanks for your help. I`ll try figure it out later.

Ah you're right, I missed that part. Yes, it is most likely re-downloading all your brushes from the Steam Cloud. You can disable that by right-clicking on the Krita Gemini entry in your Steam Library, then Properties -> Updates, then unchecking the "Enable Steam Cloud synchronization" option at the bottom.

Admittedly the Steam Cloud should be updating the settings on the cloud when you shut down Krita though - I'll take a look and see what might be going on there.

@DraccoonStu
My method for wiping out the Krita config has the program closed all the while, as is usual with this kind of things... when starting Krita is when Steam syncs the data, and that's why it gets in the way:
Close Krita -> Delete config folder -> Start Krita -> Steam syncs and undoes what I just did.
I haven't tried wiping the settings with the program open, because I kinda assumed Krita would save its settings on close.

@Seikatsukan Ah, of course - admittedly there's some work on the resource manager which should make it's way in - I'm wondering about the best approach here...having better tools to manage the resources in Krita might be helpful? And you're right, Krita saves settings on close.

The resource managing in Krita isn't lacking by itself, but a little clarity and integration would perhaps be nice. The only things I see relevant to the issue at hand are:

1. There seems to be no way to default the brush presets from within Krita, in case you accidentally deleted one of the default ones or something.
1.1. Related, the Brushes docker has no Import and Delete buttons, while the "choose brush preset" panel in the top bar does. Likewise, right-clicking on a brush does not give the option to delete it. Since I only use the docker, I thought deleting brushes was not possible from within Krita until I found that one panel :P

2. Resources currently seem to be brush presets, patterns, gradients and brush textures; the managers for these resources are all separate panels and dockers. Adding a single "Resource Manager" window/panel with Import, Delete, and Default options for each type of resource could perhaps add to ease-of-use and clarity.

Just my two cents, hope it helps!

How can I restore brush presets that I accidentally deleted? Note: This is Krita desktop, but it shouldn't matter.

@siahmobile if you close Krita, and open a file explorer to %APPDATA%\krita\share\apps\krita (enter as you see here) you should see the settings folder. In there is the kis_paintoppresets.blacklist file. There you can open the file in a text editor to find the file you deleted, (although it uses the filename, not the paintop name) or you could just delete the blacklist file to undelete all your brushes.

What if I broke the dockers so the tools docker doesn't show anymore?

So i don't know how to get to the AppData folder? Krita takes me there sometimes, but how do I open it on my own?
