Krita is free online... Why is it for sale here?
you can easily download this program for free off of their site. Why is this being sold here?

I bought it on steam in order to support the devs!
Literally same, was using the free version and just wanted the auto updates and the convinience of having it on steam was a no brainer.

I've been donating semi-regularly as well, but boy does auto-update sound ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ convenient. Any other features for the Steam version?

the steam version gets beta version access I believe and updated first before the free version does
To support the devs
creating any type of game or software is not 100% free and takes a heck of a lot of time, so yeah
its basically a direct way to donate once
5 bucks is nearly free
Guessing you all didn't see the big 'ol DONATE button on Krita.org? You know, the one where the dev's get ALL of the money. lol:steammocking:

Question is, WHY NOT?

Are you serious with this counter question?
Nice... Great answers to the same question that popped into my mind! If I begin using Krita, I will consider going through Steam.

In addition to supporting the devs and receiving timely updates, it looks like this is a great way to do it cross-platform (I'm on PC and Mac)!
Everyone getting offended over a question...

That's why photoshop alwas better because everyone want free stuff all time.....
I agree that for the less educated, a very clear statement on the Steam store would be beneficial, so that people who don't know Krita is free understand the difference.

Been using Krita for some years and having used Photoshop since CS2 to CS7 (before it went cash-grab-fest) and used GIMP among other art software for a total of 18+ years here, I believe that Krita is the best digital drawing software there is, especially if you want out of the box illustration and a unique, clean aesthetic on your UI. You can also still download brush packs if you're used to that with Photoshop.

The only thing Krita doesn't do quite as a well, would be filters. Aside from that full customisation of how the program runs, and a clear understanding of how much RAM will be used based on your canvas specs.
