Differences between Krita and Medibang Paint Pro?

I've just seen this program and I like what I see and I'm willing to give Krita an opportunity, although I'm probably in some state of hyped for buying a product, I'm not sure if this is normal.
I'm digressing.

I am an user who was painting with the free (or freenium) program named Medibang Paint Pro for a long time (probably since 2015 more or less). Medibang doesn't have as many features as Photoshop, but it has functions that truly help me as a tablet user, because not only you can freely temporarily mirror and rotate your image to help move your arm better. Not only you can create and modify your dozens of default brushes but you can also download nearly a hundred of completely customized brushes that you can modify or copy later (although you need to registrer to download those).

And yes, Medibang contains ads, but only every time you open the program. I'm happy with this program but I'm aware that there are certain aspects of it that I don't like (like having to registrer to download things). This is why Krita is calling for my attention, because I truly believe that it can be much better than Krita.

So, I'd like to see if there are any differences between Medibang and Krita if some of you are experienced with Medibang, but I think there are two fundamental questions:

-Does Krita have ads?
-Does Krita have some sort of online library to download brushes that you can modify later? And do you need to registrer in X site before you do that?

I'm aware that this thread is somehow specific so if you need to ask me any questions feel free to ask and I'll happily respond.

There are plenty of custom brushes around various sources. Krita Artists and Deviant Art has loads of them.

However, you can freely edit and create brushes and stamps in Krita. Edit can be temporary, but you can also store them for future use.

For example, I grew tired of drawing maple leafs in one of my paintings. I created a stamp that allowed me easily to create various sizes of leaves and color them later in autumn colors. I could have just created already colored leaf stamp, but I wanted variety.

I like the part of editing the brushes and store them for future use. Medibang has that aspect, it allows you to literally save any brush (created or downloaded) that you modified. In that way, the original brush and the modified brush will be both useful to you.

I really like where this is going. Maybe I'll buy Krita in the future. I'm aware of the free download link but if the program can really help me I'll definitely be willing to help the devs.

Tbh Most art software have that custom brush, nothing unique with that.

Krita brush engine is good overall but in my opinion it's slow and take more recourse compared to other paid software.


Steam version is meant give you ability to auto_update.
