Image Size vs Monitor Resolution
Hello, super new to art / digital art, was just wondering, how should I go about determining the image size settings for width, height, and resolution? It defaults to 1080p and 300.00 resolution it seems. If I'm working on my 1440p monitor, should I be using 2560x1440 WxH? Thanks!

PS if it's important, my current tablet is just an old wacom intuos, no screen.

Hi there. Resolution value (dpi) doesn't matter untill you're going to print your work. You can use whatever image size fits you. A bigger image size (in pixels) allows you to create finer details, but it increases file size and reduce performance, so balance has to be found here.
Resolution is independent form your monitor resolution. If you want to print your art, you should use a template for printing formarts with a dpi value depending on what scale you want to print at and from how close the artwork will be seen. If you do not intent to print your work, use any resolution you want that gives you enought definition to paint but is not to heavy on your machine. For Reference, most game textures today are 1024x1024 to 2048x2048 with rare cases going up to 4096x4096. Pick any resolution (even non-square ones) in this 1k-4k range for regular artworks, you can go higher if needed but the performance will degrade with the square of the relative resolution scale (4096x4096 = 4 * 2048x2048).
