A regular piece of advice we have is to update graphics drivers to the latest version if possible.
If you go into the Settings menu, under "Configure Krita Gemini" there is a "Display" category, if you adjust the level of filtering (Bilinear is okay, but High-Quality is best, but can impact performance).
We have just pushed an update to the "Beta" branch (more an area to push updates which we feel could do with a little more testing before being released to the default branch) - you can find information on switching to it here: How to enable the 'beta' branch - this adds some new memory management as well as other bug fixes which are not yet in the current release. Maybe you could switch to that and let me know if you have any more success?
EDIT: Forgot to mention, this problem doesn't occur on krita desktop. It's pretty weird since everything else has been fine, any ideas?
Does switching to Sketch mode and back when it happens fix the stuttering?
Thanks for the info re slowdown ... switching to sketch and back is interesting, and gives us a hint of where to look for a solution! :D
