Krita
2d Art for games
How would a person go about creating art similar in SIZE to Hollow Knight with Krita. More specifically, canvas size for characters and also backgrounds? I mean make them separate, like if I wanted to use Krita to make assets for a game (likely 1440p or higher). In this case, a simple room would have several layers of backgrounds and foregrounds, assets such as rocks, mushrooms, grass, the player, and enemies.

Another question, If you're experienced with Krita, what is the tool that lets you draw on one layer, then constrict the layer below to paint within the bounds of the drawing on the layer above?

Lastly, If you haven't played Hollow Knight, you should, right now!

You can also create a file only for a specific rooms of the maps, then export it and later combined every rooms into a map file and resize all of them into mini map.

Same with drawing assets like stone, rock... You can draw them somewhere, save as something and later can export them to the room file.

It's pretty much easy things since you can use layers for copy/paste. I'm not sure about the second, but it may be alpha layer?

The room idea is great, also I'll check out the alpha layering features. Thanks!
