Would be awesome!
Please don't forget t look at the intel DDS plugin, There is only a plugin for PhotoShop, if Krita supports this new DDS format, it would make Krita much more attractive to game designer and modder.
Some news to dds integration?
Nope, and "Snap to Grid" also still not working.
It looks like we've just added support for loading DDS files, and I think it should be landing with the next release (4.3.1) around August. If you can't wait until then, you can also go check out the "Krita Next" (unstable) nightly builds from the downloads section of our website, https://krita.org.
(I'm sorry that these things take a while to make it in and I want to thank you all for waiting patiently. I know waiting for a program to add a feature that you want is annoying, but we're still quite a small 7 person team with quite a lot to fix and a few big projects going on.)
Anyway, check it out, have fun, make some cool mods, and let me know how it goes!
Thanks Rusty. I wish we could always get to things that people want quickly, but sometimes a feature is harder than it seems or just gets added to our to-do list behind a million other things. But, we try our best! =]
I say this all the time, but it's true: we really rely on support from our community to make things happen. We've got about 8 people working professionally right now, and many of those people including myself can only do so based on the money that comes in through Steam. On top of that, because Krita's open source, we have tons of people in our community who help out with everything from bug reports, to documentation, to creating brushes and even writing code.
So, I mean it when I say that almost everything we are able to do is thanks to community members like you who support and encourage us!
Still no DDS support in 4.4.0.
