First time play order
I have just finished the base remastered game and Road to Gehenna, loved both of these but was wondering if people think I should play ‘In the Beginning’ next or instead play Talos Principle 2 first and loop back round to ‘In the Beginning’? Thanks.

Either order is fine. ItB basically tells the story of the creation of the simulator used in TTP to create 'the first AI person'. Best to play TTP before ItB. RtG is a self contained story, as is TTP2. Personally, I would play ItB (18 puzzles + 3 stars) before TTP2 - which is a massive undertaking (169 puzzles over 12 areas + the Megastructure ['boss' fight/puzzle]). Nothing will be spoiled in TTP2 if you play ItB first.

If you have (or consider getting) the DLC 'The Road to Elysium' for Talos Principle II, do play TTP2 first. The DLC contains massive spoilers for the main game.

Hmm... So I'm not completely sure about this... but I'm actually inclined to suggest Talos 2 + Road to Elysium before doing In The Beginning. I think from a difficulty perspective this would have the smoothest on-boarding? Talos 2 gets you slowly into some things with lasers that In The Beginning seems to expect up front, although iirc this is mostly about the TP2 DLC I'm thinking of... just dont play DLC before base game whichever order you go in. Maybe try ItB but keep this in mind if you end up getting stuck too bad in ItB.
