Will I be able to play this co-op on Bazzite?

Unlikely as the info from MicroSlop says that the game REQUIRES Win11 and that it uses Kernel level DRM as well as Hardware DRM to 'protect' the integrity of the game.

I emailed their support about it and they told me it will run on the latest build(s) of W10. As for Steam Deck or Proton they were unwilling or unable to comment.

That's not what the minimum requirements say. Windows 10 does not have the required security features that the game will try to hook into.

You probably got a response from an A.I. chat bot. I doubt very much if any human eyes ever saw your question.

But who knows for sure. I certainly wouldn't risk any money on it, that's for sure.

how many things that list tpm as required actually require you to use it?
you can use win 11 with out a tpm

i cant think of much else then valorant that actually forces you to use a tpm, even though theres still work arounds

That is why Steam refunds exist. When I can I will get the game and see if it works as I refuse to use W11. Regarding security stuff, as far as I know it "may" require that TPM 2.0 be turned on which you can enable on a W10 system and I have it running since I passed all the W11 checks. Microsoft knows full well many users have not switched so it is unlikely that they would put a product like this out to force W11 but I guess we will see.

It's certainly not a risk for me. I WILL buy it. My computer is still a dual boot, so if I can't play it on Linux, I'll just use Windows.
I don't see the point of a kernel level anti cheat/DRM, for a co-op game...

There is zero credibility to this claim, as it contradicts official statements from every relevant party.

Furthermore, 'Preparing for what's next: Windows security and resiliency innovations' explicitly focuses on moving relevant security functions towards the user space, reducing the kernel level code surface, which may force lessened compliance on strict kernel level security measures for anti-cheat, and subsequently leaving behind a smaller footprint in matters of cross-compatibility and translation in different operating system environments. Though that specific post is unrelated to gaming, it is functionally relevant in this discussion.

In short: Microsoft is actively cleaning up its OS architecture so software doesn't deeply hook into the kernel anymore. Because this is a campaign/co-op game that, as far as we are aware, doesn't include a competitive anti-cheat, translation layers like Proton on Bazzite won't have a massive kernel-level wall to climb. If you choose to purchase it for Linux, rely on the Steam refund window if needed, but I would refrain from believing rumors that don't cite relevant, credible sources.
In their latest gameplay trailer, they showed the game running on a Steam Deck.

I watched the trailer again (the one from xbox showcase) but didn't see it.
I refunded it today. Going to wait and see if the game will run after release.

Knowing Microslop, they'll push updates that will break things, it happened all the time with Halo MCC.

This fully confirms it.
Showing the game being played on a Steam Deck instead of an ROG Ally is a pretty intentional choice in terms of marketing. It's either going to be a typical capitalism bait and switch or a confirming the game is working on Linux via Proton.

I managed to see that teaser video. and it does seem to confirm it. They don't need to make a full Linux build, they're probably aiming for the deck certification. And if that didn't confirm it fully, when they said "you can squad up on xbox, playstation and PC", they had the deck on display for "PC". So my question is answered,

Steam Deck is not a full endorsement for how well it will work, because it uses AMD hardware.
We know it will launch (which is enough for this discussion), but everyone, and nvidia users in particular, will have to wait and see how it is in reality :)
(I personaly will be playing on nvidia machine, so fingers crossed !)
