Report a translation problem
There was a bug in the previous version that might of allowed the hunter to be chosen as a breed before playing through the entire game, if so... that probably why you never came across the pet for the hunter class.
If you want to continue to play as hunter... you can I suppose... but the quests throughout the game are really designed as if you think you are a vampire, etc. so it may not make sense playing though the game for the first time as a hunter.
Once you are a hunter it is designed mostly as "end-game" content that is why the hunter you save and added to your party is so high in stats.
