BloodLust Shadowhunter

Shadow HUNTER Pet?
I was wary of trying the Hunter class, wih the slower attributes and even more wary when I saw I could not gain any of the Vampire skills, only the 5 Hunter skills. However I found it still a well balanced and very fun gameplay experience. The handful of hunter skills give you all you need, you just don't have as much flexibility for customization and thats fine. Its still early, but seems great - actually kind of overpowered in a way.

The little shadow minions are basically equivalent to having a couple sired minions on protect mode expect they don't need attribute points like a minion and they don't get in the way of my attacks like the minions did with my criminal and his crossbow.

I am a little confused by the lore/story of the playable hunter. Because everyone treats me as a vampire yet I cannot bite anyone and have no vampire skills. I am a Hunter disguised as a vampire for the sake of the narative it seems. Or am I a hunter that was actually turned into a vampire? I don't even know at this piont, but I am having fun.

NOW my real question is with the Hunter skill "call pet".....when I use it the skill says I have yet to befirend a pet but there is no help/hint/guide or indication anywhere in the game that leads me to where I might find and befriend a pet. I see a paw print on the skill icon. So I feel like the so called pet would be a dog? or a wolf, a cat? I see no such creatures in the game to befriend. If anyone knows more PLEASE help. Thanks.

Did you unlock the Hunter Breed (by playing entire game) or was the Hunter breed available to you from the start?

There was a bug in the previous version that might of allowed the hunter to be chosen as a breed before playing through the entire game, if so... that probably why you never came across the pet for the hunter class.
Ahhhh ok. It was available at start. I had no idea it was not supposed to be. But that makes sense now. So I need to play ahead and finish the game on my Vampire criminal first...then my Hunter can find a pet, or would I have to delete my hunter and restart with new Hunter character? Could you explain this a bit better for me please. I am assuming I'd probably just have to restart that character. Thank goodness for shared stash - I can dump her stuff off so my criminal can use it, not a total waste. :-)

Also, not sure if this is another Hunter related bug, but I did a Hunter mission to rescue another Hunter...now he is a permanant minion like Vampire sirelings. Only when my Vampire bites someone they start with stats at like 12 or less. The Hunter ninja started with stats in the 80's. I am only level 8 or 9 at this point in the game. So I was a bit surprised by that.

Spoiler alert! - You find out at the end of the game (if you choose to destroy the darkness) that you are really a Shadowhunter - and once this occurs you unlock the shadowhunter skills and you lose all your vampire skills this is why the hunter breed is now unlocked for you to play if you want as a new breed from the beginning of a new game.

If you want to continue to play as hunter... you can I suppose... but the quests throughout the game are really designed as if you think you are a vampire, etc. so it may not make sense playing though the game for the first time as a hunter.

Once you are a hunter it is designed mostly as "end-game" content that is why the hunter you save and added to your party is so high in stats.

Thanks so much for explaining that.
