PS. Ladders != Platforms. U fall down = risk of death and u need to tap jump to move up... Instead of just climbing along the wall.
Hold Shift and press S
Edit: Sry its S and Space. not Shift
Otherwise, mashing space for more than a minute every time I want to descend is tedious.
Honestly, options are better than limitations. Plenty of people are creating mineshafts that span the entire height of the map, and being able to make use of these with more ease would be great. As it is, you have to mash on the space bar to go up / down. Making it so we just need to hold a directional key to move at high speed up / down would be better.
I've always enjoyed being able to chain/rope my vertical shafts, so I can access various parts of the underground at will. There aren't enough crystals to make that possible. (Not saying they are not useful, they most certainly are).

you can very quickly get up and down by tapping space. Ladders would be no faster and would require and entire new set of animations to accomplish the exact same thing.
