Planet Centauri looks like a good game but I haven't played it so I cant speak to that. If you would like to know more about Crea then you can check out this post I made back at 1.0 launch: http://steamcommunity.com/app/280520/discussions/0/357288572117808789/. There have been many improvements since then but it'll give you an idea of what the game is like. Another option is to pick one to try it out and if you don't like it then refund and get the other. :)

I'll check that out :)
I don't want to refund it and then g et the other because it takes too long to get my money back and the fact that 2 hours doesn't really get me far enough (I'm really slow at figuring out stuff sometimes lol)

If it helps, Bunny, my SO and 2 friends play this together. We're having tons of fun. The little realms and dungeons the game generates are neat and dynamic. While similar in appearance sometimes, you never know what to expect when it comes to the specific rules of each dungeon, they become quite challenging and keep you on your toes.

The world and lore is amazing.

If you haven't already played it, my honest opinion would be to get Starbound. Crea has amazing potential, and I like the leveling system, and crafting reminds me of FFXIV but there are some things I don't like about Crea. Lag spikes in solo play is my biggest issue with the game. (and yes I did shut autosave off did not fix the issue) another issue is with moster spawns dwindling after long periods of play. I find I have to save and exit my current game, and reload the game just to get spawns back. It's a decent game otherwise, and worth the price if you're just looking for something different to play when you're bored. I know this game is still a work in progress though, so I can't complain too much. Keep up the good work.

In my opinion Planet Centauri is a well made (programmed) game, runs fast and fluently and looks great. Currently it has about 40hours game content (I played 38h with other account some updates ago), For this it's quite expensive (compated to similar games). It's not done at all yet.
So compared with price/playtime-ratio Terraria and Starbound is by far better. Starbound I played over 100hours, Terraria over 1000hours.

Havn't played Crea yet but think about buying it. How long you need to build/make all important stuff?

@Jasson : In your link: "procedurally generated worlds". Like Starbound with random arrangement of human constructed objects or real random like Terraria?

I think most players spend about 30-50 hours to get through Crea although as with the other sandbox games you can spend much more time on it if you'd like.

The world is generated a little more like Terraria as it doesn't have towns like Starbound does. The world does wrap around like Starbound (at least I think they do that) and because of this the layout of the world is less predictable than Terraria. Crea does have dungeons, monster hordes and boss fights all occur in other "realms".

Thanks for fast response.
All that sounds good, only play time sounds quite short compared to Starbound and Terraria.
But I'm sure I will get it at one point. Currently I have many other games in library which wait to get played and no time to play them all.

As far as I know, the current sale ist the best offer so far. Are there any plans for further sales, e.g. -60% or being part of a bundle (e.g humble bundle) in near future?
Is there any guarantee for no better deal in e.g. next 5 days, 4 weeks, 3 months, 2 years (or other numbers)
So if I buy It now, how long I can be sure it won't be (much) cheaper.
Or was -40% a one and only offer, which won't happen again?

First time I played through Terraria I only put like 40 hours into it - still a ton of value for $10 or less! Just like Terraria, Crea will continue to have more content added over time. :)

No plans to be part of a bundle anytime soon and after the typical winter sale Crea wont be going on sale again anytime soon. Maximum discount increase wont be happening anytime soon either. If you look over the history of Crea's discounts you'll see it is a slow and steady increase for your exact concerns. I don't want to have player's feel bad about buying the game at one price and seeing it cheaper shortly after.

But it increased each time. Does it need to increase (slowly) until it reaches 95%? Or could there be a final maximum?

I'm sure it's worth it but that is exactly my point.
So same or (slightly) higher discount at winder sale. Only a month until winter sale, so I will buy it there.

Yobi, I look at it this way. It's only 9 bucks right now. That's an _AMAZING_ price for a good game. Jasson is a very active developer. When my SO and I encountered bugs, he was on them like a rabid animal, destroying them. One of the most amazing responses we've ever seen from a dev. We're highly pleased with the game.

It's fun, it's unique. It's not trying to be another game, while it may share some similarities with other games. It has it's own look, it's own feel. It's inspired by them.. but it's definitely it's own thing.

We're highly pleased with it.

Ultimately, you make the choice, but 9 bucks is difficult to beat, when it comes to such a fun little game.

EDIT:

Oh, and Speeps are freaking adorable.

Understandable! Discount amount will not increase for winter sale and likely wont increase until summer sale. Maximum discount amount ever will likely be 50%.

My opinion, get both. One thing I have learned about these games, is their worth the money. I love CREA and still playing it when I can see lol. I own all of them and can honestly say, their so different and entertaining, I go back to them quite often. If you just stick with one game, you get burned out and thats when you stop playing and lose out on a lot of new updates. I find buying several types like CREA, Starbound, Dig Or Die, Shards of Azoria, and even the cheap ones the devs took off and abandoned are still fun and interesting to play. Sometimes an early access game you need to stop playing due to waiting for an important update. So it's good to have several around, especially when they have their own multi-player servers to get friends to join you. Try a few out. Look on youtube as well. I highly recommend both CREA and planet CenTauri. Even the others.

My problems with YouTube is that unless the person recording it is interesting, I find the game boring. Even if it is a game I like. And unfortunately for me, no one that's entertaining is doing videos on these 2 games.

You should let your favorite youtubers know that you would like to see videos from these games. The more people that recommend games to youtubers the more likely they'll cover those games. :)
