I would most likely be an augmented rebel of some kind, as the Human Purity Movement seems to disagree with human augmentation on principle alone, which I don't. It's inevitable. Unavoidable. The least we can do is affect as much as possible how it is integrated with humanity as a whole. I really wish I could live for the next 200 years to see how it'll all play out, but alas.
But I agree, I haven't finished the game yet but I keep asking myself "At what point is Jenson going to tell Sarif to buzz off and put an end to all the BS going on between everybody?"
Even more interesting the builderberg group exists in the game. http://deusex.wikia.com/wiki/Bilderberg_Group
"It also forced all people, great and small, rich and poor, free and slave, to receive a mark on their right hands or on their foreheads, so that they could not buy or sell unless they had the mark, which is the name of the beast or the number of its name." Revelation 13:16-17
Once you have it you will be bound to hell, forever lost because you have given yourself over to the enemy. This game, near the end actually plays out a scene illustrating to a full extent of what this could physically look like. I don't want to mention it though because it'd be a spoiler for those who haven't finished it. But you'll know what I mean once you have.
"A third angel followed them and said in a loud voice: "If anyone worships the beast and its image and receives its mark on their forehead or on their hand, they, too, will drink the wine of God's fury, which has been poured full strength into the cup of his wrath. They will be tormented with burning sulfur in the presence of the holy angels and of the Lamb. And the smoke of their torment will rise for ever and ever. There will be no rest day or night for those who worship the beast and its image, or for anyone who receives the mark of its name." Revelation 14:9-11
True. He gives you some valueble intel.
As far as feeling like your playing for the wrong side, keep playing. Try not to make any commtments along the way... and/or make some choices and commitments. But...
SPOILER ALERT!
Minimal spoiler.
At the end of the game, your given several choices as to how you want the game to end.
No matter what though, hang tight through the credits... especially if you've played, or plan on playing the origional Deus Ex (Game of the Year). There is a surprise hint at how it came about and how JC Denton and his brother were created. Nuff said.
Augmented people for example you hear going on about how they needed them to survive after accidents or people who just wanted them.
You then hear people who lost their job cos their boss expected them to get augmented and of people going broke due to needing neuropozene.
Theres not really one side thats right, love how they play the whole arguement its what makes the game great I'd say. More so because honestly we aren't to far from a similar argument, we already have people being not allowed in the special olympics as their prosthetic limbs make them faster than people with real legs. Yes its not due to robotic ones BUT its a step in the direction of prosthetics being better than the real thing. Which then brings this whole debate from being discussed by us on a game forum to being discussed by governments around the world.
