Mod that eliminates the boss battles - does it exist?
I am quite surprised that a mod for eliminating the boss battles hasn't been created, to the best of my knowledge anyways. Heck, I would pay for a DLC that ONLY eliminated the bosses! Any rumors that anyone has heard concerning a mod that does this?

After learning about the bosses the hard way on the first run, I just got the Typhoon for the next runs. Even if it's not fully upgraded you can easily kill the bosses by abusing the Typhoon.
i think i'm the only guy in the world that likes ALL of the boss battles. my favorite is the first one though.

I never looked up any guides yet all of the bosses were easily taken down through some glitch. You can manipulate them very easily. Nade spam, typhoon should be enough.

Barret was a little tough but again, four nades and a second of shooting and he's dead? Too easy for 'Give me deus ex'.

I personally had no issues with the bosses.

Well, that's not entirely accurate. The second boss was a pain in the flippin @ss because of those electricution generators and my lack of ammo on my first playthrough but, considering my difficulties stemmed from my misallocation of praxis kits and inventory space, I had only myself to blame.

I like games that punish mistakes. I like games that look at your failure and say, "good luck kid; you're gonna need it" instead of "you poor thing, take this BFG".

It's not a matter of challenge so much as it is a sense of consequences.

The bosses are the only thing I didn't really like about the game. Not the bosses themselves, but the way the boss encounters where designed didn't allow me to use the stealth mechanism I used all over the game. Being stealthy didn't do much in the boss encounters.

So wait, the Typhoon works well against bosses?

Absolutely. Last run I went for pacifist and didn't have a lethal weapon with me at all and only used the typhoon on them without nades spamming or anything else.
Thing is, once you use the Typhoon an animation is played and you're invulnerable at this time no matter if anybody is shooting at you. I killed the first one without having maxed out the Typhoon actually.

Well, the typhoon obliterated the second boss. It stunned her, so I pulled out my machine pistol and unloaded point blank into her face. Toast.

It`s less a matter of BEATING the bosses than that they are present in their current form. You can`t hack, stealth or CQC your way past the first two at least - I haven`t gotten further yet - and have to rely on lethal weapons that you may not even be carrying, or the Typhoon augmentation, and I`d rather use those points for other purposes.

Rather than a boss removal mod I`d prefer a "bossfight enhacement" mod so I can stealth or hack my through them, but of course the storyline won`t allow you to not kill them.
MuttonchopMac Feb 9, 2013 @ 7:20am
Right. It's the handful of parts in the game where you're forced to do something they way they want you to.

Exactly. The bosses should be more like the hangar door sequence in TYM. You can fight the robots, hack them off or sneak past them to a rocket launcher... with which you then fight them. Okay it`s not perfect but it sure felt more like Deus Ex than circling a room around a guy with a machine gun arm, putting a sniper round into his head at every corner.
some guys just have to be killed. my favorite game of all time is the original deus ex. i can't imagine sneaking around trying to hack a computer with gunther herman charging like a bull seeing a red cape either. though i must admit, most the time i shot him with a missile while he hid behind that pillar before he even ran up to talk smack.

Yeah but in the original there were at least the killswitches making you able not to fight them at all, then you could electrocute Walter Simmons or what his name was etc. That aside, you had more tactical options in fighting them as the areas where you encountered them were more open. As you say, hitting Herman even before he can talk gives you an option as well.
The bossbattles in HR are the most generic you can get in a shooter: Cutscene - locked room - fight to death. Totally wrong in this game.
I agree with hghwolf, just pointing out that the Typhoon is my "exploit and screw the boss battles" augmentation of choice because I absolutely hated the boss battles in HR. And I'm a shooter guy at heart.

at least with the second boss, you just tazer her and repeat it on the spot, it took like like 8 or 10, dont know will it work with other ones

I'm stuck at the second boss. i don't have typhoon and i have no available praxis :( every time i start the game, it starts automatically with the fight :(
