Yeh also force triple buffering if enabling v-sync (should stop tearing)
I have enabled both on the graphics card. Still slight tearing in game and horrible tearing during cut scenes. I've tried re-installing the game as well.
Try checking your fps using "Fraps" see if there is a pattern, also check gpu temp. If all fails you could lower your gpu core clock down abit using msi afterburner to reduce fps & eliminate tearing. (If fps to high is your problem, im not convinved it is as v-sync would stopped tearing).
Well I hate to say it, but I do believe you're wrong sir. I've had terrible screen tear on cutscenes with VSync and Triple Buffering on.
This fixed the problem for me, now I can use max settings and it's totally smooth again:
Open Regedit
Go to: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Eidos\Deus Ex: HR
Set "D3D11_CREATE_DEVICE_PREVENT_INTERNAL_THREADING_OPTIMIZATIONS" to 1.
Gave that a shot, still no dice. It's absurd how bad the tearing is with this game. I've never seen anything like it.
NOW WHAT HELPED was kicking the game down to dx9. no jittering, very smooth. but still i would like to play it as good looking as possible. will have to try regedit and maby search for other gpu driver..... any other ideas?
Anolther thought does changing "Field of view" in gameplay settings make any difference?
