What are you specs? Also, what happens? Does it start and then crash or not start at all?

I have the same problems. I first installed it at my old laptop, it worked fine. But at my computer it just does not start. The program appears at the taskmanager, but after a few seconds it just disapears. My system: i5-3570, AMD Radeon HD 7800, 8GB DDR3-RAM. Drivers are all checked, game was reinstalled several times. I somewhere found a tip that it might be a problem of DirectX and my anti virus programm, but even deactivating it did not solve the problem. Someone has an Idea?

Go to your library, right click on the game and go to properties. From there click on the local files tab and hit "verify integrity of game cache." That should fix the problem. If not, contact steam support.

Me too. I discovered the same problem at another game, Assassins creed II (but not with Deus Ex-The missing link). I will contact the support

I've solved it, the problem was Norton. I had to deinstall it, then I started the games. They could finish there installation. After they had run once, I could reinstall Norton, everything works fine now.
I did Buy the Deus Ex and the game dont start, just dont start. And i dont have Norton

You may have to disable Integrated Graphics to get it to run properly. On desktops with both Intel integrated and a discrete GPU, the integrated chip can conflict with the discrete, preventing the game from launching properly.

That was my problem at least.

For what it's worth... I had the same/similar problem. I couldn't even start up the game properly; when I clicked "play" it just flickered for a moment with a black screen, or even just appeared for a split second only on my taskbar as an icon, not even opening, and then crashed and... nothing.

And I tried everything, and I mean everything that was said in current and passed threads about (fixes to) this problem that a lot of other people apparently also had: NOTHING WORKED!!!

Nothing.

I asked for a refund on steam, but since I tried for weeks to get it running, they refused saying I was beyond my 14 days period.

So anyway. Just very recently - a few minutes ago - I upgraded my win10 to win11. I don't know why, but that just seemed to have fixed it. I'm still not sure what exactly the problem was earlier, but well, I'll never know, I suspect.

Anyway, just saying to those that don't get it working, still want to play it, and can upgrade from win10 (or earlier versions) to win11, they may consider this as an option. With a bit of luck you'll fare like me, and it starts working.

Played a few minutes with everything maxed out now, and it seems stable.

So, there you go, for people whom come looking here for the same problem...
