Gas grenades - Do they trigger alarms when used?

Thinking about this for when I try a Foxiest of the Hounds run.

Whenever I used them, enemies went Hostile, which ruins the XP bonus for Ghost. Same thing with EMP grenades. I don't believe I was able to use a single grenade the entire game.

Gas and EMP Mines, on the other hand, never cause enemies to go Hostile. Mines are effectively the same as grenades, if you throw them into a group.

I never used Concussion grenades or mines.

There is a brutal fight later in the game wherein all enemies are marked Hostile; this will not count against a FotH run. You can probably use all the grenades you want during this fight.
