Game is so complicated..
Hey I'm not a simple-minded one who just wanna shoot things, I think I like complicated games like Fallout NV(you really need to learn many things), Skyrim, or strategic tactic games.

But Deus Ex shoves all kinds of 'new and complicated, stand alone format system' under my nose.

Most games have similar systems and just couple of different hot keys, but Deus Ex has...what a..different menu, system, controls.

I like the game itself, I think it's a very good game, but, God I have to learn so many things to play just couple of first scenes.

Once I learn all the menu and system I think I'll enjoy replaying, but..the whole system requires too much learning effort at first.

Personally, I love it when a game introduces all new stuff that takes effort to learn. It's what makes them better and different from your average FPS.

If you just read the skill tree, you can go through the game shooting and killing all you want so long as you take the time to build the skill tree right in order to do so. You have no attention span, you only want to breeze through a game, have you tried COD games? Might be better for you.

generally in a shooter complicated= options which I am a giant fan of. Yeah theres some learning curve, but this is a rare game you can actually play rambo or ghost the entire thing. One of the rare games ive actually bothered to kill everything and nothing.

Actually Fallout series(except Fallout 3) is more complicated than Deus Ex, It has complicated skill-perk-stat combination, tons of odds and percentage calculation, even your various weapons do different damage up to your conditions and perks, skills, and enemies. and you should go through tons of quests and dialogues which change up to your choices.
But it was easier than Deus Ex because Fallout was 'intuitive'.

Deus Ex on the other hand, it has unique UI, its own system, you have to learn everything from scratch, with tutorials. It's a 'bad' learning system, not 'most' complicated.

You're not helping, Bebop...

There is a bit of a learning curve with the game, and the "tutorials" during the first couple of missions might not be entirely helpful to someone new. I've played the Deus Ex game franchise since its beginnings, so learning how to play Human Revolution came relatively easily to me.

While the game requires a bit of learning to do right I am unclear why anyone who has ever played a shooter before would struggle. I can't actually think of a single concept that is somehow complex, confusing, or unique to Dues Ex Its all pretty straight forward from a function stand point.
Shoot, loot, move on. Upgrade crap as available or, alternately, sneak past and move on

Its only applying it tactically where you need to learn anything. Thats not tutorial territory. Thats just knowing how to play shooters territory.
For the record, and while I'm not ripping fallout 3, it was a good game, that is a crap comparison. Fallout was a rpg with extremely simple shooter elements. This is a semitactical shooter with extremely simple rpg elements.
In fairness maybe I am overlooking some complex concepts that I take for granted though. Give me an example or two that actually need a tutorial for anyone who has played shooters before and I will retract my position.

Just because I can'r resist though...Skyrim? Complicated? That was quite possibly the most dumbed down, modern console gamer excuse of a handholding embarrassment to its franchise in the history of gaming. Well, Beyond Earth is worse, but that isn't really a game. Its just a phone app pretending its a game.

And this is why we are flooded with crappy, lazy, shooter dominated, overpriced games.

Who says complicated game=good game? Look at Bioshock, it's easy and simple but it's masterpiece in game history. It has philosophy and artistic touch.

Deus Ex tries to tell us something, but the story is predictable and characters are flat. Though I still think Deus Ex is very good game.

Actually this is first time I was ever bothered by learning 'how to play'. Something is different. I've played many big action franchises and RPGs, JRPGs, but Deus Ex is annoying at first for some reason.

Final Fantasy is more complicated when it comes to learning curve, but it wasn't that difficult. I don't know why.

There is nothing complicated about this game.

It does not matter what else you played before, this is easy to follow, you can't get lost walking the street's, hall's or stuck in a airduct, if you do I suggest you drop a ammo box along the way, like bread crumb's, anthing YOU drop will stay be there. The funny part is the skil's are like using cheats in other game's, you config jenson based on your style of play.

Hey man, everyone struggles with new games that exposes them to new concepts sometimes. Here's the keys to Deus Ex!

1) It's not your typical shooter/cover game/RPG. It's a bit of all of them, but unlike a normal shooter where you have a very linear path, Deus Ex tries to immerse you by giving you a lot more options on how to get from Point A to Point B. Have something blocking your way? Maybe a vent will get you past it if you look around. If you Auged into strength, maybe you pick it up and move it. Have a door you can't get past? Maybe you hack the door, or crash through a close by weak wall instead.

2) Stealth and Cover are necessary evils. Even with every durability and strength mod, you'll die pretty quick if you are running around for people to shoot at you. Learn the cover mechanic and how to round corners. Look around before you shoot; you may not ever have to engage an enemy to get all the loot in the area and to your next objective if you're sneaky.

3) Critical Thinking gets more points than straight shooting. Talk to people, hack doors, hack computers, look around and get curious. For instance, in Detroit there's an arms dealer in an old gas station. If you take a ladder nearby, hack a door, go out and window and up to the roof, (or just jump up the backside if you have leg augs) you can pick up a free sniper rifle in the vent. Save it or sell it. There's a lot more to the game than meets the eye.

4) Feel free to check out some guides to know more about how to build your Jensen. Seriously, before you spend a praxis point, you may want to stock up a bunch, save, then try out a few configurations. For example, 1 config would be to spec into cloak, reflex booster, and legs. That let's you activate stealth, make mad dash silently at two bad guys, and knock them both unconcious lickety split. For guys like me who like to be stealthy, I load points into things that let me see through walls, move quickly and silently, and hack like crazy.

5) Tied with above, manage that inventory! If you played Resident Evil 4, think of your inventory like Leon's suitcase. If not, well, this might be new for you. You can't hold every gun in the game, so the sooner you make some tough calls about how you like to play, you can decide what to pick up and what to leave behind. In Detroit, one of the gangs has a love affair with shotguns. I'm a stealthy guy, they're not really my thing; I'll go through the whole mission, knock every guy out, and once everyone is down (this is time consuming), pick up a single shotgun and pistol at a time to run back to a vendor for cash so I can buy things I REALLY want, like Praxis kits. A gas grenade can take out a whole room full of bad guys in a pinch, a single EMP grenade can drop the biggest bots in the game, and a well upgraded pistol can make short work of nearly every bad guy. But a weapon unused is a useless weapon, so be judicious.

5) Lastly, have FUN. I like being a sneaky, stealthy bastard. I always take cloak, and I always take my time. That's my playstyle; I like to pick and choose how I take guys out and vanish without a trace. I always hide the bodies and I never get alerts. But that's ME. Try a few things first until you feel what works best for you, and the stick with that. On runs where I'm pure lethal, one of my favorite moments in the game is hacking a console and activating turrets to shoot at all my enemies for me, giggling maniacally a room away in safety. You may find that you're the kind of guy that likes setting traps for bad guys with mines, throwing fridges at guys heads, and using those manopener blades in Jensen's arms.

I hope this helps, man! I love the Deus Ex games, I've played through them many times and STILL see things I didn't before, or new ways to create mayhem. Get curious, explore, and have fun!

I dont think the OP was meaning he played fallout 1 and 2 and i would not say that NV and 3 were complicated. Not that id call this complicated but i guess it could be intimidating to be presented with so many options if youre not used to having options.

Deus Ex tries to tell us something, but the story is predictable and characters are flat. Though I still think Deus Ex is very good game.

Complicated =/= good game but often the more complicated games are better games because you are given more depth and freedom. If the mechanics are too simple then there simply isnt the scope to allow the player to act in different ways. It is, of course, possible to overdo complexity - i wouldnt want every game to be like Arma - but i find its often underdone over the past few years.

Bioshock isnt a great "game" for its gameplay. If you removed the story from it then it would be terrible as it has fairly poor gunplay and general mechanics. The setting and story carries bioshock. That isnt to say i think its bad - i like bioshock - but i dont think its actually an incredible game, rather, it tells an excellent story in an excellent setting and the game carries it forward and lets us experience it in 1st person (which does a lot given the spookyness).

Eh, Deus Ex HR tries to convey a message about transhumanism and all the bad stuff that brings but id say it fell very short of the bar when doing this. I think id agree that while the story is poor this is a good game because of the gameplay.

I dont think its fair to disagree with

given the current gaming market, by no means are you to blame. You only have to look at this years releases and see at least 75% of them be shooters which are laughably easy and devoid of any unique characteristic beyond a petty gimmick.

Now, back on topic. OP what were you asking exactly? Do you want advice? Stealth is OP in this game. The cloak makes it too easy. However, that said, its also pretty easy to shoot everyone. The pistol is the most OP weapon ever, seriously. Dont upgrade the assault rifle, the sniper, the shotgun or any of that crap. Pistol, pistol all the way. If you put a few damage mods and the armour piercing mod then youll be OHKing guys everywhere with headshots and the silencer means nobody will know. Go all out for XP if you can. Hack everything, KO everyone if you can, do all the quests and, even if you dont go all out optimal playstyle, explore because you can find huge amounts of loot and XP. A huge issue with this game is that there is a 'best' way to play because of the XP system which if you follow makes the game easier and i just described it.

I replayed deus ex (first one) not long before human revolution came out. Human Revolution felt like an overly simplified version of the original. So I found it to be rather easy (almost disappointingly so) compared to the first. It may have a little bit more of a learning curve compared to many games out now, but it's definitely far more accessible than deus ex.

Fallout NV or Skyrim are complicated? Dude, you're just bad at video games.
