There's a book that's a prequel to Human Revolution called the Icarus Effect.

Other than that, what do you like about the genre? Just any sci-fi in general? Are you looking for cyberpunk books? Gov't conspiracy books? If you can narrow what you liked about it we can probably give better recommendations.

Check out Andromedas Fall. Its sci-fi but focuses a lot on martial engaments with robot AI. The author is ex military.

Grab all three: Neuromancer, Count Zero, Mona Lisa overdrive (The sprawl trilogy). They're a great start if you like DX :-)

Meh, of the trilogy, I only enjoyed Neuromancer. I still read that book every year, but I don't have plans to re-read the others again. I had given up on non-Neuromancer-Gibson, but having recently read The Peripheral and enjoyed it, I may have to check out some of his other stuff.

Yeah, I second Neuromancer. also Snowcrash by Neal Stephenson!

Maybe you might like Philip K ♥♥♥. His book "Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep?" was the basis for the movie Blade Runner, which itself was a huge influence on Deus Ex. Also, check out anything by Asimov and Heinlein.

If you like extreme sci-fi the now noncannon Star wars books written by various authors has suprisingly good storytelling and story veriety. For more down to earth sci-fi dystopia stuff try people like ray bradbury.

Check out a novel called Dome City Blues and it's sequel Angel City Blues. They're easily the most accesible cyber punk novels, perfect for those new to the genre.

For something a little different, check out Samurai Boogie by Peter Tasker. It give a cool near future view of Japan.Crime technology and high finance shennanigans serving as major themes. Also as someone who lived in Japan for years I have to say it one of the best depictions of what real Japan is like, not the wacky gameshows or tons of anime but captures the seedier side of the country.
