The graphical downgrade is extreme, and there's no way I would ever play it again. I could only tolerate it for a couple hours. No matter how much you hate the boss fights, you'll hate the graphics of Director's Cut worse.
I didn't like the boss fights originally, but came to appreciate them more after a few replays. Killing the people that maimed you and kidnapped your girl is more satisfying mano-e-mano.
Barret is easy, he's slow as heck and vulnerable to gas. I take him out with the pistol ... it's the only weapon I ever carry ... and the gas canisters that are all over the place, and toss a few exploding barrels at him, too. It only takes like four gas canisters and a few face shots from the pistol and he's done.
Fedorova is weak to EMP, and if you stand in front of one of the generators she'll blow them up when she attacks you which harms her even more. Drop an EMP mine, shoot her in the face when she's paralyzed, rinse and repeat. Won't take long.
Namir is cake, he likes to leap back and forth over a bookcase, so you just walk straight up and take cover then toss frag mines on either side when he does. Takes like one minute or less.
Of course you need to get lung upgrades for the gas and dermal upgrades for the EMP before taking them on. Good to have a couple heals keyed up for Fedorova the first time, she duals SMG and I think she uses Typhoon. Once you get her number you won't need them anymore. Don't chase her, just move from one generator to the next drop the mines and wait for her.
DX HR was never released for OG Wii.
Also, PCGW says, and I quote:
"
The game's lighting for certain objects is broken compared to the original Wii U version.
"
There's a mod to recover "original-ish" visuals.

I haven't tried this myself so far ( proceed at ur own discretion ).
You should ( IMO ) add something like "Boss Battle tips" BEFORE the "spoiler" bbcode. Otherwise one needs to hoover and start reading BEFORE finding out WHAT the spoiler is pertaining to ( at which point it might be too late ).
Just use stun gun. I don't remember exactly, but it takes about maybe 20 stun gun rounds to beat a boss and you can permanently stun lock them lol.
I defeated the last (?) boss Jaron yesterday with 3 rockets.
