Does shooting a camera start an alarm always?

I am trying to do this foxiest of hounds achivement and powered my way through hong kong to TYM and shot a camera, and it sounded an alarm. Whatever, big deal, I reloaded my save. However it dawns on me that I've shot one camera before, in the alice pod gardens when Belltower shows up to kill Windmill. It didn't seem to start an alarm at the time but i'm not sure, don't even if it was on... well sadly that's well beyond my auto save and the earliest hard save puts me all the way back in derelict row.

Is it worth replaying the errant sections or might I be safe to carry on?

Replay. If it goes to alert, you've nixed the achievement...

I did... dear god I replayed all the way back, and I stayed up until 5 in the morning only to find out I failed anyway somehow! Than I spent ALL DAY TODAY redoing the achivement! I have it now but dear god my soul is scared.

Took me 5 years to finish the game :) I will never have that archivement and if I would have it, well there must be some kind of mistake ;PP

Shooting cameras usually triggers alarms but I'm not entirely sure if they do if you hack all of the alarm consoles (disable the ability to trigger alarms). At least it disables the ability of the ground units to trigger them.

Does shooting a camera and triggering the alarm (even if all enemies in the area have been knocked out) prevent you from getting Ghost for that section? I'm currently in a room in TYM where there's a stupid camera that's preventing me from looting all the desk drawers and hacking the computers...and I really want to kill it.

My research since shows that it does. Invest in invisiblity heavily if you want to do a ghost run, that was my solution.

Oh meh, just figured out how to disable the cameras using the security console...have to click on that tiny little green dot. Wish I had known about this before I expended those 2-3 EMP grenades...
