Barrett...(for stealth players)
So I've started this wonderful game again a second time to finish it again, but this time I chose a stealth playstyle. I dont have aug upgrades for damage reduction, I dont have grenades aside from an EMP, I dont have shotguns or other weapons. Just the stun gun, the silenced pistol, and some medikits. All went great until Barrett. I forgot how awful this fight is. So how the hell can I beat him with the stuff I DONT have? I know there is some ammo and a machinegun but that is no where near the amount I need, and the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ is too fast.

yt is full of videos on how to do this. if you've played the game you should be aware of the explosives and gas canisters in the area.

I dont care about youtube, I'm asking here. I played it in 2011. I barely remember the encounter. But I solved it anyway, thanks for the "help"

Well, answers for a lot of things are out there...Google, Youtube, Gamefaqs...you can usually get a solution much faster that way too rather than waiting for someone to reply.

Use grenades, i am stealth player too... But vs bosses? You need 1 damage weapon! (Pacifist: my objective, but vs bosses you don't need pacifism ahaha. )

well i try to play stealth style in easyest mod. But the dam stun rifle doesnt work even if i hit the opponents. So is it better to shoot all enemys down with a normal gun/Rifle ?

Are you talking about the tranquilizer rifle? You have to take into account projectile drop, so aim a bit above the target if they're far away. Enemies that are knocked unconcious can also be woken up by their allies, so make sure you can reach the body and drag it away, or just quickly tranq all the enemies before they can revive one another.

Yep after finishing and stuggling the first time through with the bosses, even if going stealth, I always stick in a typhoon just for the bosses.

Well, Barret is really easy (or just easy on hardest difficulty) when you hide behind crates when he shoot his machine gun, and throw explosive stuff into him just when he's done with a salvo. Tranq is useless, but you can use stun gun to, eh. stun him for a while, gives you 2~3 seconds. Just enough to run for a barrel and throw at him.

If you're out of environmental explosives (which is unlikely), there are a few grenades in two weapon caches in the room.

Step 1 :hide behind a wall for a second or 2
Step 2 :find a yellow canister and throw it at him
Step 3 : throw a red barrel at his ass
Step 4: go to step 2
Step 5 : ????
Step 6 : profit

If you find the vents you can open some doors and find some turrets... even barret can't win in a frontal attack against two turrets.

If I am not mistaken those turrets are in the DC version.

I ran into a suggestion to use the stun gun on Barrett a bunch of times to kill him, and it worked. I threw a grenade at him, got behind him, and then chained a couple of stun shots and that killed him pretty quickly. And I'm the worst at boss fights, if it works for me anyone can do it.
