May be first hour release have configuration bug.

That picture from Xbox Accessories app. I think its calibration for inner controller software.
That bit stick drift is ok, hardware noise.

I've tested with a Xbox 360 and Xbox Elite Series 2 controllers as well as others (ps2, ps4, ps5, generic controller) and all those controllers work normally, i think this is likely an issue with the controller you're using, what controller do you use? I'd recommend maybe disconnecting/reconnecting the controller and maybe try restarting the game if that doesn't work

I have the same issue. Trying to play it on my 8-Bit-Do 3-mode controller. Kitty always keeps going forwards no matter what I do. First game to have such an issue, very odd.

I've just bought this 8-Bit-Do 3-mode controller online so i can check what the issue is, although it's going to take a week or so to get here. Hopefully i can reproduce the issue and find a solution, i'll post an update here when i've got the controller and tested. I do recommend using the mouse and keyboard though as it provides a higher level of precision.

Legend for getting the controller to test it on your end as well.

So i've just got the 8-Bit-Do 3-mode controller and it works normally, i tried it in xbox mode where it's connected via cable and PC mode where it's connected wirelessly through the 2.4ghz adapter. Not really sure what else to try it works normally straight out of the box didn't have to do any config or anything other than plugging it in and turning it on, were you trying to change the key bindings or anything like that?

I've googled it a bit more and all the top articles are talking about stick drift so that could potentially be the issue, it may be that the deadzone config for my game is at a lower threshold than other games (although it is 0.25 which i would assume is standard) so potentially other games aren't recognizing the stick drift. I'd suggest maybe trying the recommendations on google below, unless there's something specific you're doing in the game which could be triggering this? but it's very difficult for me to know what the issue is without being able to replicate the problem. Let me know if you have any more details and i'll see if i can help

You can email me at support@onlywayisdown.com or join the discord discord.gg/3EdxwFfrRz.

The forward movement is not dictated by operators in that way it is all about input from devices. The cat will either go forward from a button press on the keyboard or a > 0 value from the controller Y axis. I've researched further to try and find if there's any other issues reported like this with unreal engine and there does not appear to be, the only issue that i can find related to this is from stick drift. This leads me to believe it's a stick drift issue (could also be malfunctioning sensors) or possibly configuration/driver issue especially as i've tested with the same controller as the only other person to report this issue and it works fine. I've tested with an Xbox 360, Xbox Elite Series 2, 8-Bit-Do 3-mode controller, PS2, PS4, PS5 and a generic controller and they all work fine, also i've seen a ton of other people play with a variety of xbox controllers with no issues.

The picture you show from what i've seen appears to be from the Xbox console? so my assumption is that should only effect the calibration on the Xbox rather than the controller itself, also it looks based on the picture you do have a bit of stick drift.

If it's possible it would be good if you could try with another controller and/or another computer as that would help find/narrow down the cause.

Awesome well i'm glad you've found the issue! sorry i didn't have the answer. I honestly have no idea why that should effect the axis input as the axis input hasn't changed since the game launched, it's very odd. Thanks for experimenting though, i'm sorry i couldn't figure it out, i really had no idea but it's good to know as it may be a fix for other issues as well.
