These questions are intended to help prospective players decide if XVTM is a game they’d like to play.

What’s the gameplay like? What am I doing for most of my playtime?

XVTM is primarily a visual novel, so most of your playtime will be spent in conversations. At different points in the game, you’ll be able to walk around an explorable environment, or play brief ‘microgames’ to accomplish various tasks.

When is the game coming out?

XVTM will be using Early Access and releasing in three large segments called ‘Indexes.’ The first two indexes have been released, and the final index is tentatively planned for Q4, 2025.

Will there be a demo?

Yes, and you can play it today.

What’s the story about? Is it suspense? A comedy? A drama? A slice of life?

XVTM is a story about a girl, and the choices you make for her. Each path has its own theme and feeling.

Who is this game for?

If you enjoy visual novels with branching stories, weird games, and villain protagonists, you should try XVTM.

How much replayability is there?

There are multiple paths through the story, and you can only see one path in a single playthrough. In addition, your actions, choices, and performance in different parts of the game can elicit different responses during conversations.

Is there any DRM?

There is no additional DRM beyond what Steam provides.

Is there any AI-generated content?

Some ambient and background music tracks and sound effects are AI-generated.

What game engine is used for XVTM?

XVTM is built in Unity.

How does the save system work?

XVTM will automatically save your progress at fixed points between gameplay segments. These autosaves are indicated by a notification in the bottom-left corner of the screen.

When you load your game, you are loading the most-recently created autosave. Please be careful to only quit playing after you see the autosave notification disappear completely, or you will lose any progress made since the most-recent autosave.

XVTM also uses Steam Cloud for your game saves, in addition to creating an offline local backup.

Why the 'X' rating? Is this some kind of porn game?

XVTM has occasional scenes involving explicit violence, sexual content, and adult themes. In the interest of completeness, this content will not be censored. In addition, XVTM's Mature Content Description and Store Tags may change over time as more content is added during Early Access.
