How to handle invasions?
So far they are way outclassing anything I have available (top level is 10, doing about 100 per attack. got to final boss, he does 450 per attack. 8 hits and no party left...

Got a healer in the group? Gearscore averages? Doing normal or heroic? They should scale to your adventurers levels, not sure how much HP you have at level 10 :P and the boss is random, so you may get an easier one.

There is a bug accociated with invasions that I have just found and reported.

Don't worry your not doing anything wrong - Basically you can spawn any mob and any boss in invasions and they are meant to be scaled to your party level.

This is fine with mobs however the bosses appear to not spawn at a 'lower' level than what their original dungeon incarnation is.

Basically take Fang - He can spawn at any level from 2-50 (scaled to your party) as he is a level 2 boss, however the Greater Ice Elemental is a level 21 boss in its respective dungeon so will only spawn between level ranges 21-50....meaning at level 10 the odds are vastly against you with rolling a defeatable boss haha.

I've only successfully beat the invasion twice. Both times, I've had party members die and had to exit, revive, and go back in. I've had my entire party get wiped multiple times -- once in the same invasion. At level 20+ with gear score of ~16, the normal mob damage is 400+, my damage is ~300, and my heals ~600 and I run 2 clerics. The boss can do 800+. When a heal fizzles or i run out of mana, I'm dead. The gold and item reward is not spectacular. Resurrection costs makes doing invasions not worth it. Because my gear will always lag behind my level, I can't imagine routinely beating mobs my level until I max my level and spend time grinding level 50 gear.

You gear won't always lag behind your level. Heck, my lvl 35s have GS of anywhere from 44 to 60. In fact, since the GS is always higher than the required level to equip the gear, your GS should never be lower than your level once you're past the first 10 (random number) or so levels and can go back and play heroic dungeons for better loot.

Have a healer, but they target him first. He heals only about 125 - but that's only a quarter of the damage received each round... Wiping out my party costs 600+ gold to bring them back. On a good run I get about 100 gold, so that takes 6 runs to pay for 1 defeat... argh!

As indicated by Majic's post, the final bosses in invasion runs are not scaling to your level properly. But he's obviously been made aware of the problem, so just wait a bit and it'll likely be fixed in the next hotfix or two.

If your gearscore is below your level you are terribly under geared and need to farm the most doable dungeon for loot. As you level, gearscore starts to scale by rarity so if you're 20 you really should be running all level 20 rares because the monsters you're going up against have that good of gear.

Between those two points, and factoring the speed of invasions appearing, and the time limit involved before you fail and take a faction hit, and the disparity between Clevel and GS at lower levels, it would appear that lower level characters have a disproportionate chance of getting creamed and failing earlier invasions. Yes/No?

Well, all monsters are toned down 1-9 so as long as gear is kept up somewhat then there should be little issues fighting them.

One thing I will expose is monsters do not start equipping full gear until 16, so on top of monster stats being decreased 1-9 they also only wear 2-3 pieces of gear. At 10 they get 4 and then at 16 they get all 7 pieces which is the bigger curve. These variables are all very easily modifiable, for instance moving what level they equip items would drastically change the difficulty.

Balance is quite easy to obtain if enough feedback is presented so we will continue to move the 1-20 game around a bit if players are still having difficulty after 9.

Is it possible to have more than 1 "profile" (game) going at once? I can't see how to start a second game without deleting the first one...
Majicpanda Aug 8, 2014 @ 9:51pm
Not at the moment but it's planned for release.

I can't find this info so I'll ask here. I've basically just started, couple hour in and I have an invasion in Giantia but I can't figure out how to do anything about it. How do you engage the invasion?
Ghini Nov 2, 2014 @ 7:48pm
I now see a separate spot on the map that is listed as invasion. Unfortunately... It's listed as "suicide GS 65", my current GS are 1s and 2s. My highest level is L4
