Windowed mode fails and opens on wrong monitor.
The game opens on my non-primary monitor and when I try changing to windowed (non-full screen) mode the setting simply doesn't take effect. How can I make sure that the game plays on the correct monitor, and why are the video settings not working.

Does anybody else have this issue?

Hi @Popinjay - one of the devs here.
Are you by chance on a mac or linux machine, or are you running windows?
I am running Windows. Win 11 on this computer, but ideally I would be able to run it on my Win 10 computer as well. But I have only tested it on Win 11.

The computer is a ASUS ROG Strix G16 (2024) if those details help.

Hi Popinjay,

I'm not sure we've quite seen this issue before, and are struggling to reproduce.
If you are willing, there a few things we could try:

- You could try to override saved settings to non-fullscreen mode if you feel comfortable navigating your computer and editing the game preferences.json. I would save a copy before you edit it, just in case. You would need to navigate to: C:\Users\your_user_name\AppData\Roaming\Adriaan de Jongh\Rift Riff, and open the preferences file with notepad (AppData folder may be hidden, so you'd need to show hidden files). In the file, there should be a line that says: "fullscreen": true, . Change it to "fullscreen": false, and save. Now launch the game and see if its in windowed mode.

- Otherwise... The G16 is a laptop, right? What happens if you disconnect your monitor and only use the built in screen? Does it still not switch to non-full screen mode when you try it?
Facing the same issue with the game not entering windowed mode. On a Windows 10 pc, fully updated drivers on a Nvidia 3060 ti. Tried with other monitor both connected and disconnected. At no time is other monitor turned on nor set to show anything. Changed notepad preferences file per recommend, which game reverts back to true for fullscreen upon launching game. Alt+Enter doesn't work, nor does changing launch options in properties. Switching fullscreen on and off simply causes flicker on edges of screen, resolution changes do nothing. Verified game files.

Not sure if any of this is related, from godot log file:
Steam initialized. boa_s0_no_snipersfalse Reset window position and size. Queued saving player preferences and saved game on quit. Thanks for testing and providing the feedback and Godot log file. I'll investigate and see if I come up with a solution.

Thanks for your patience.
