I'm Stuck......."on a Rail"

I don't have a screenshot, so I'll have to describe it...my tram car is stopped at a crossing gate. I've made my way to the stairs where you have to climb over three (what look like very large ammo boxes, or army green {LINK REMOVED}grates...in order to flip the switch for the gate to go up. My problem is...I can't jump over them, I mean ANY of them...I've tried changing weapons, thinking it is a weight problem...I've tried to get a running start, even throwing a grenade at it...NOTHING??? Does anyone know what the trick is??? Please help me out.

bunny hopping...? do you mean...holding the "move forward" key (hot key=up arrow) down...while also tapping the jump key...? That sounds a lot like getting a running start and {LINK REMOVED}jumping...yes? no? I went on youtube and found the exact place where I am...and the poster/player there seemed to have no problem just jumping right over. I will try your suggestion, and come back here for your answer...thanks.........later..............

As others said before, just press [Space] and then, in mid-air, [Ctrl] (while holding [W], of course).

the game teaches you how to crouch-jump at the start... you should know...

Ctrl+spacebar. I had problems too... But with some of these old (but still really good) games you have to experiment. :D

You have to run jump.

This question is 6 months old. I wonder if it WAS the whole crouch-jump secret HL move - or if he/she just needed to go some other way around. If the OP was still around I'd probably go look at that map and see 4 myself.
