C++ Runtime Error [FIXED]

I get a C++ runtime error whenever I click launch, I never played HL:S but I have played original HL1 and BM:S. I've never got to play HL:S. Does anyone know how to fix this?
[EDIT, FIXED]
I had to delete engine.dll from Windows\System32
Deleting this file won't hurt your computer

Make sure your .NET Framework and DIrect X are current.

I TRIED EVERYTHING! VALIDATING. REINSTALLING. UPDATING SOFTWARE AND DRIVERS. NOTHING WORKED
