These guys are not suposed to follow you up in the elevator, that's why they refuse to go :)
It seems you expect all the NPCs that you ask to follow you will do so until the end of the game. This is not the case. Most have a purpose (not always essential to the gameplay) and will follow you until they reach their tasked purpose, like opening a door for you, and are restricted to certain areas before reaching it :)
That would be cool.
You would end the game with like 20 Barneys and 40 Scientists.
And.. i know pretty well the mechanism of the game, because i've played and finished HL2... in fact i've already do the "E" thing, without any success.

That is sad, because probably that is the only thing that works fine in HL:S actually, trully leave the scientist close to the Retinal Scanner

When you look at the top of a building and then look at the sky, the buildings texture becomes the sky. The only game ive seen this happen in was the Goldeneye 007 rom.
