HL Source full of bug. I'm stucked at "anomalous materials".
Hi guys, that's my first post here!

I've bought this game and played and from the beginning i've met lots of errors such as characters that don't let you go through the game (for example the policeman that didn't let me pass through the door even though i had done what was necessary to go)...
I have solved those problems reloading from a previous saved game.. but now not even this solve the problem.

I'm stucked just after the explosion in the test room... the scientist and the policeman follow me only till the door of the elevator.. then refuse to go.. i just go alone and the other scientist upstairs just talk to me.. i continue to the door but is blocked: "access denied"... what have i to do? I'm quite tired i'm thinking to ask my money back to Steam... it's a disaster!

HL Source has been broken by all the updates to the source engine and valve have shown no signs of caring about fixing it. The only solution at this time is to play the original.

that's not a bug, you're supposed to press E on the scientist for him to follow you, then he lets you in, he doesn't just follow you automatically

I think you just don't know how to pass this level. Do the training level until you understand how everything works, then if you still get stuck, go on Youtube and look for Half life's walkthrough with the name of the level you are at. :pandastunned:

These guys are not suposed to follow you up in the elevator, that's why they refuse to go :)

It seems you expect all the NPCs that you ask to follow you will do so until the end of the game. This is not the case. Most have a purpose (not always essential to the gameplay) and will follow you until they reach their tasked purpose, like opening a door for you, and are restricted to certain areas before reaching it :)

That would be cool.
You would end the game with like 20 Barneys and 40 Scientists.

It's obvius i don't expect that everybody will follow me until the end of the game.
And.. i know pretty well the mechanism of the game, because i've played and finished HL2... in fact i've already do the "E" thing, without any success.

That is sad, because probably that is the only thing that works fine in HL:S actually, trully leave the scientist close to the Retinal Scanner

There have been some small updates here and there, i havent encountered a single bug or glitch except for the ugly skybox graphic glitch when you make it to Surface Tension.

It isn't glitch, it is just ugly.

When you look at the top of a building and then look at the sky, the buildings texture becomes the sky. The only game ive seen this happen in was the Goldeneye 007 rom.
