Early Game Tips (contains some gameplay spoilers)
So you've moved to sugar creek burrows with some wheat seeds, 100 carrots from mom, and a dream. But how oh how will you make it in this fuzzy world? Everything costs an awful lot of carrots. Fear not, and read on! I've got you.

Everyone can, of course, play however they'd like... that's the beauty of a cozy bunny game! But if you want to make your early game efficient, there's a couple reliable strategies to help you make carrots faster.

Early Gameplay Tips

Cave is King

Don't you dare gift any of your precious baked goods to those greedy little villager bunnies until you've unlocked the caves. Unlocking the caves and forest open up new avenues for early game carrot generation, and you can't afford to spend your precious carrots on anything until those are accomplished. So, the most important step is: save 200 carrots and unlock the cave (via the community board in the post office).

Getting Carrots Before the Caves

There are a few methods to getting carrots without access to the cave or forest:
  • Baking and shipping your baked goods. Flatbread is cheap to make and nets you 40 carrots.
  • Collecting mushrooms and giving them to Anita (mushrooms randomly spawn in the tall grass on the perimeter of town)
  • Catching recyclobots for Rowan and accessing the reward distributor in the observatory
  • Taking pictures of birds for Wren (this is limited though, because you only get carrots per new species of bird)
  • Carefully choosing what errands you want to do at the request board in front of the tavern (only select errands for easy things you know you can do, like delivering wheat)

Wheat and Wheat Seeds

Whenever you're at the market, always buy wheat and wheat seeds. Early game, these are hard to come by, and you need them to bake your flatbread. After you've unlocked the caves, always buy oats and oat seeds as well; you'll need those later for a bunch of things so it's good to stockpile now.

Always be planting. Make sure you're wheat seeds are always in the ground, growing into beautiful wheat which you can turn into flour. Same thing for oats if you have the caves unlocked.

The Buns Yearn for the Mines

Once you have the caves unlocked, then delve, my buns, delve! The caves are the most lucrative early game money makers. You can find furniture to sell, mushrooms to give to Anita, and salt to mine which adds up and also sells for a pretty penny.

After the Caves

Once the caves are open, now you can start gifting all your delicious baked goods to other villagers to progress your baking knowledge. Once you reach higher level baked goods and grow supplemental materials yourself, you'll be able to really start churning out the carrots.

I hope you find this helpful! Feel free to add more tips below :)

i always bake as many flatbreads as i can everyday if i'm tired of mining. i have high level basic breads now so its very profitable for avoiding the caves and doing nothing but baking

Also a super valid strategy!

I can't seem to figure out what the cave orbs do that are floating around, I've tried capturing them and also leading them to the spikey alters but nothing. Is it later in the game I figure this out? ^^

you lead them to the spikey alters and it unlocks a chest. I'm still early game, and I don't think I did anything specific to like unlock it.

I swear I tried this, I will have to try again ty!
I can't lead the blue orbs anywhere - if I approach them, they fizzle out and disappear.
