Floating Sphere in Title Screen, Bug?

I've been playing this great game via my Xbox Controller and after adjusting some things on the title screen in the settings menu I noticed a floating sphere which can be fully controlled with the controller. It even affects the lights and even after closing the settings it was still around and moveable. It has this gray checkered "no material" surface. Is this a bug?
